Vadtal – 200 years of Shikshapatri

Friday January 23rd (Maha Sud 5 V.S. 2082) marked 200 years since Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan completed writing the Shikshapatri. The Shikshapatri is one of the core scriptures of the Swaminarayan Sampraday and serves as a code of conduct for living an ideal life. To commemorate this event, a special Dwishatabdi Utsav was held at Raghuvir Vadi, Vadtal

The celebrations began with a homatmak mahapuja, where members of the Dharmakul Parivar along with devotees from nearby villages participated. The mahapuja was followed by a Shobha Yatra through the streets of Vadtal. During this shobha yatra, the Shikshapatri along with a murti of Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan were seated upon an elephant and yuvaks enacted numerous Shikshapatri Shloks.

In the evening, a special sabha was held which was graced by the Dharmakul parivar, santo, parshado, and invited dignitaries. During this sabha, H.H. 1008 Acharya Shree Ajendraprasadji Maharaj gave his blessings while speaking on the history of handwritten copies of the Shikshapatri and explaining the importance of abiding by the commands of the Shikshapatri, citing the resolutions of recent legal matters as a testament to Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan always showing grace to those who follow His word.
