Shree Hanuman Janmotsav

Lord Hanuman’s mother, Anjana, was a nymph, and she was born as a result of a curse. She would only be freed from this curse by giving birth to a child. Anjana did tap for 12 years to Lord Shiva in order to have Lord Hanuman. The father of Lord Hanuman is Kesari. Kesari is the son of Brihaspati (Jupiter).

In the Ramayan, Lord Hanuman appears as the ideal devotee of Lord Ram. In the Mahabharat, Lord Hanuman is seen atop the chariot of Arjun. Lord Hanuman is also the 11th avatar of Lord Shiva.

Before the birth of Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan, when Dharmadev and Bhaktimata were being harassed by demons, they went to Hanuman Ghadi in Ayodhya where they chanted Hanumanji’s stuti. Thereafter, Lord Hanuman gave them his darshan and his comfort.

In Shikshapatri Shlok 85, Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan has stated “In times of troubles caused by evil spirits, none shall invoke inferior deities but shall recite Narayan Kavach or the Mantra of Hanuman.”

The Hanuman Chalisa explains the important aspects of Hanumanji’s life and how he was a great son and devotee. The chanting of the Hanuman Chalisa wards off negative and evil forces, protecting all and bringing good luck.

When Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj was snatched away by demons, it was Lord Hanuman who rescued Him and brought Him back to Bhaktimata.
