Bhaktraj Shree Kubersinhji

The personal guard and mace-bearer of Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan, Bhaktrraj Parshad Shree Kubersinh, was a resident of Ahmedabad. He dedicated the golden years of his invaluable life to the seva of Maharaj. Day and night, he spent his time serving the satsang, the sadhus, and Maharaj. Fearless by nature, physically robust, and possessing a unique administrative insight, this Bhaktraj had a powerful, resonant voice. Consequently, wherever Maharaj’s procession traveled, he would lead the way, announcing His arrival with the ceremonial mace.

Due to his exceptional practical wisdom, sincerity, and spirit of surrender, Kubersinhji was granted a significant opportunity for seva during the construction of the very first temple of the entire Sampraday in Kalupur – Ahmedabad. Even British officials viewed him with great respect because of his distinguished personality. Therefore, whenever Maharaj visited Ahmedabad and had to meet the Governor, Kubersinhji would fulfill the responsible service of mediator and messenger.

His art of presentation and eloquence were so unique and distinctive that they could persuade anyone; as a result, all procedures involving the British offices—from acquiring the land for the Ahmedabad mandir to its final construction—became much easier.

In this manner, having served as a Parshad of Maharaj for many years, it is known that Maharaj eventually appointed Kubersinhji to the position of Kothari of the Ahmedabad mandir, where he served for many years.
