In response to the desperate prayers of the devtas and righteous human beings, Bhagwan Vishnu manifested on Earth as the divine incarnation, Shree Buddha. Born as the beloved son of His pure devotee Ajin in the sacred village of Kikat (near Gaya), Bhagwan Buddha incarnated to delude the arrogant daityas (demons) and protect the cosmos from the misuse of Vedic power.
The Cause of Manifestation
Thousands of years after Bhagwan Shree Krishna concluded His earthly leelas and returned to His divine abode, the balance of righteousness began to falter.
In an earlier era, the daityas had approached Indradev with a query:
“What is the secret to ensuring that our kingdom and rule remain forever stable, prosperous, and secure?”
Indradev advised them to perform yajnas (sacred fire rituals) in strict accordance with Vedic injunctions. The daityas put this advice to the test and successfully executed the rituals. As a result, they gained tremendous spiritual energy, immense material prosperity, and a rapidly expanding population.
The Misuse of Vedic Power
Instead of using their newfound strength with humility, the daityas grew intoxicated with pride. Reasoning amongst themselves, they thought:
“The secret to the power of the devs is now in our hands. No force in the universe can harm us now!”
Emboldened by their strength, the demons began misusing the power derived from the yajnas to attack and destroy divine forces, torment innocent people, and disrupt the cosmic order.
The Divine Boon & Delusion of the Demons
Unable to bear the oppression, the devs gathered and offered heartfelt prayers to Bhagwan, pleading with tears in their eyes and choked voices for deliverance. Touched by their devotion, Bhagwan granted them a boon, promising to disarm the demons without initiating direct warfare.
To fulfill His promise, Bhagwan manifested as Shree Buddha. Through gentle words, supreme charisma, and compelling philosophy, Bhagwan Buddha deluded the mindsets of the daityas, convincing them to abandon Vedic rituals, sacred rites, and the execution of yajnas.
The Restoration of Order
As the daityas abandoned their sacrificial rituals and turned away from the source of their spiritual energy, their divine potency began to deplete rapidly. Though they initially continued to oppress the innocent, their foundational strength and royal authority crumbled from within.
Seeing the demons disarmed of their ritualistic power, the devs mounted a righteous campaign, defeated the weakened demonic forces, and reclaimed control of the celestial realms, re-establishing peace and dharma across the universe.
