Sadguru Shree Tyaganand Swami

Tyaganand Swami was a saint who kept a holy stream of devotion for Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan flowing constantly. Even amidst the thorniness of life’s difficulties, he maintained the unshakeable joy of satsang. By strictly following the agyna of Shree Hari, he received immense rajipo. While the history of his birthplace is not recorded, he was known as an exceptional mumukshu. This is evident from the profound questions he posed in the Vachanamrut. In Vachanamrut Gadhada Pratham 78, Tyaganand Swami asks Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan, “How can God be pleased?” To this, Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan replies that if one does exactly as God commands, then God is pleased.

Once, when Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan celebrated the Annakut festival in Vadtal, santo and haribhakto arrived from various villages. On that occasion, Tyaganand Swami offered a beautiful prayer of praise to Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan, saying: “O Lord! You are the Lord of the eternal Akshardham and the giver of immortality. You have manifested in the home of Dharmadev. Your divine form is as beautiful and dark as a fresh monsoon cloud. You are worshiped by Your own santo, and You adorn white garments and garlands of flowers. I have come to seek refuge forever in You, the manifest Almighty.” Such is a sadhu who lived his life as a surrendered soul of Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan and brought glory to the Satsang.
