Shikshapatri

Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan wrote “Shikshapatri” on Maha Sud 5 (Vasant Panchami), Sanvat 1882 (Monday, February 12, 1826 A.D.) in which he defined rules for his devotees to follow. There are 212 Sloks in Shikshapatri and is a tool of everlasting bliss and salvation for the people of all age and groups (Acharyas and their wives, Santo, Brahmacharis and Haribhakto). In the last Shlok of Shikshapatri, Shree Hari said “Everyone should read few shloks of this Shikshapatrievery day, and if one cannot read, they should listen to someone reading it and if that is not possible, then they should do puja of it on daily basis”.

The following translation of the Shikshapatri has been approved by H.H. 1008 Acharya Shree Ajendraprasadji Maharaj

Gujarati: (શ્રી સહજાનંદ સ્વામી જે તે પોતાના સત્સંગી પ્રત્યે શિક્ષાપત્રીને લખતા થકા પ્રથમ પોતાના ઈષ્ટદેવ જે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાન તેનું ધ્યાનરૂપ મંગળાચરણ કરે છે.) હું જે તે મારા હૃદયને વિષે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનનું ધ્યાન કરૂં છું તે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ કેવા છે, તો – જેના ડાબા પડખાને વિષે રાધિકાજી રહ્યા છે, અને જેના વક્ષ:સ્થળને વિષે લક્ષ્મીજી રહ્યા છે અને વૃન્દાવનને વિષે વિહારના કરનારા છે.
Lipi: ( Shree Sahajanand Swami je te potana satsangi pratye shikshapatrini lakhatā thakā pratham potana iṣṭadeva je Shree Krishna Bhagwan tenu dhyanarupa mangalācharaṇ kare chhe.) Huṁ je te mārā hṛdayane vishe Shree Krishna Bhagwannu dhyan karuṁ chu, te Shree Krishna kevā che, to – jenā ḍābā paḍakhāne vishe Rādhikājī rahyā che, ane jenā vakṣaḥsthālane vishe Lakshmījī rahyā che ane Vṛndāvana ne vishe vihārnā karanārā che.
English: I (Sahajanand Swami) meditate, in my heart, upon Shree Krishna Bhagwan, on whose left stands Radhikaji, in whose heart resides Laxmiji and who plays (with His Bhaktas) in Vrindavan.

Gujarati: અને વૃત્તાલય ગામને વિષે રહ્યા એવા સહજાનંદ સ્વામી જે અમે, તે અમે જે તે નાના પ્રકારના જે સર્વે દેશ તેમને વિષે રહ્યા એવા જે અમારા આશ્રિત સર્વે સત્સંગી તે પ્રત્યે શિક્ષાપત્રીને લખીએ છીએ.
Lipi: Anē vṛttālaya gāmne vishe rahyā evā Sahajānanda Swami je ame, tē ame je tē nānā prakārṇā je sarve deś tēmane vishe rahyā evā je amārā āśrita sarve satsangi tē pratye śikṣāpatrīnē lākhī’ē chhīe.
English: I, Sahajanand Swami, write this Shikshapatri from Vadtal, to all my aashrit (devotees) who reside in different parts of the world

Gujarati: શ્રી ધર્મદેવ થકી છે જન્મ જેમનો એવા જે અમારા ભાઈ રામપ્રતાપજી તથા ઈચ્છારામજી તેમના પુત્ર જે અયોધ્યાપ્રસાદ નામે અને રઘુવીર નામે (જેને અમે અમારા દત્તપુત્ર કરીને સર્વે સત્સંગીના આચાર્યપણાને વિષે સ્થાપન કર્યા છે.)
Lipi: Shree Dharmadev thakī che janma jemno evā je amārā bhāī Rāmpratāpjī tathā Īchchārāmjī temnā putra je Ayodhyāprasād nāme ane Raghuvīr nāme (jene ame amārā dattaputra karīne sarve satsangi nā āchāryapaṇāne vishe sthāpan karyā che.)
English: My brothers, Rampratapji and Ichharamji, are both sons of Shree Dharmadev. I have adopted Rampratapji’s son, Ayodhyaprasad, and Ichharamji’s son, Raghuvir, as my sons and established them as the Acharyas of my satsangis.

Gujarati: તથા અમારા આશ્રિત એવા જે મુકુંદાનંદ આદિક નૈષ્ઠિક બ્રહ્મચારી તથા અમારા આશ્રિત જે મયારામ ભટ્ટ આદિક ગૃહસ્થ સત્સંગી
Lipi: Tathā amārā āśrita evā je Mukundānanda ādika naiṣṭhika brahmacārī tathā amārā āśrita je Mayārām Bhaṭṭa ādika gṛhastha satsangi
English: And my aashrit, including Naisthik Brahmacharis (Virtuous celibates) like Mukundanand and Gruhast Satsangis (devoted householders) like Mayaram Bhatt.

Gujarati: તથા અમારે આશ્રિત જે સુવાસિની અને વિધવા એવી સર્વે બાઈઓ તથા મુક્તાનંદ આદિક જે સર્વે સાધુ
Lipi: Tathā amāre āśrita je suvāsini ane vidhavā evī sarve bāīo tathā muktānanda ādika je sarve sādhu.
English: And my aashrit, including married women, widows, all other women, as well as all Sadhus such as Muktanand.

Gujarati: એ સર્વે-તેમણે પોતાના ધર્મની રક્ષાના કરનારા અને શાસ્ત્રને વિષે પ્રમાણરૂપ અને શ્રીમન્નારાયણની સ્મૃતિ એ સહિત એવા જે અમારા રૂડા આશીર્વાદ તે વાંચવા.
Lipi: E sarve-temaṇe potāna dharmanī rakṣānā karṇārā ane śāstra ne viṣe pramāṇarūpa ane śrīmannārāyaṇnī smṛti e sahita evā je amārā rūḍā āśīrvād te vān̄cavā.
English: Let it be known that all those mentioned above shall receive my divine aashirvad (blessings) that safeguard their righteous paths, embodying the sacred memory of Shreeman Narayan and sanctioned by the shastras (scriptures).

Gujarati: અને આ શિક્ષાપત્રી લખ્યાનું જે કારણ છે તે સર્વે તેમણે એકાગ્ર મને કરીને ધારવું અને આ શિક્ષાપત્રી જે અમે લખી છે, તે સર્વેના જીવનું હિત કરનારી છે.
Lipi: Anē ā śikṣāpatrī lakhyānuṁ je kāraṇ che tē sarve temane ekāgra mane karīne dhārvuṁ ane ā śikṣāpatrī je ame lakhī che, tē sarve nā jīvanu hita karṇārī che.
English: All my Satsangis with undivided attention shall study this Shikshapatri which is written by me for the spiritual welfare of every Jeev (soul).

Gujarati: અને શ્રીમદ્ ભાગવત પુરાણ આદિક જે સત્શાસ્ત્ર તેમણે જીવના કલ્યાણને અર્થે પ્રતિપાદન કર્યા એવા જે અહિંસા આદિક સદાચાર તેમને જે મનુષ્ય પાળે છે તે મનુષ્ય જે તે આ લોકને વિષે તથા પરલોકને વિષે મહાસુખિયા થાય છે.
Lipi: Anē śrīmad bhāgavata purāṇ ādika je satsastra temane jīvanā kalyāṇ ne arthe pratipādan karyā evā je ahiṁsā ādika sadācāra temne je manuṣya pāḷe che, tē manuṣya je tē ā lōkne viśe tathā paralōkne viśe mahāsukhiyā thāya che
English: Those who follow rules of ethics and the shastras shall get happiness in this world and in Parlok (after death in Akshardham)

Gujarati: અને તે સદાચારનું ઉલ્લંઘન કરીને જે મનુષ્ય પોતાના મનમાં આવે તેમ વર્તે છે, તે તો કુબુધ્ધિવાળા છે અને આ લોક ને પરલોકને વિષે નિશ્ચે મોટા કષ્ટને જ પામે છે.
Lipi: Anē tē sadācārunuṁ ullānghana karīne je manuṣya potānā manmāṁ āvē tem varte che, tē to kubuddhivālā che ane ā lōk ne tathā paralōkne viśe mahā kasta ne je pāmē che.
English: Those who violate the Rules of Ethics and act willfully with evil intentions shall endure significant distress both in this world and in Parlok (after death in Yampuri).

Gujarati: તે માટે અમારા શિષ્ય એવા જે તમે સર્વે તેમણે તો પ્રીતિએ કરીને આ શિક્ષાપત્રીને અનુસરીને જ નિરંતર સાવધાનપણે વર્તવું, પણ આ શિક્ષાપત્રીનું ઉલ્લંઘન કરીને વર્તવું નહિ.
Lipi: Tē māṭe amārā śiṣya evā je tame sarve temne to prītiē karīne ā śikṣāpatrīnē anusarīne je niraṉtara sāvadhānapanē vartavuṁ, paṇa ā śikṣāpatrīnuṁ ullānghana karīne vartavuṁ nahi.
English: All my disciples shall follow the commandments of this Shikshapatri vigilantly and not violate them.

Gujarati: હવે તે વર્ત્યાની રીત કહીએ છીએ જે – અમારા જે સત્સંગી તેમણે કોઈ જીવ-પ્રાણી-માત્રની પણ હિંસા ન કરવી અને જાણીને તો ઝીણા એવા જુ, માંકડ, ચાંચડ આદિક જીવ તેમની પણ હિંસા ક્યારેય ન કરવી.
Lipi: Have tē vartyānī rīti kahīē chie je – amārā je satsaṅgī temṇe koi jīva-prāṇi-mātraṇī paṇa hinsā na karvī ane jāṇīne to zhīṇā evā ju, māṅkaḍ, cāṅcaḍ ādika jīva temnī pan hinsā kyārē na karvī.
English: Now, I shall describe the way of living – my aashrit should not cause harm to any living being, such as lice, bed bugs, insects, etc., knowingly or unknowingly.

Gujarati: અને દેવતા અને પિતૃ તેના યજ્ઞને અર્થે પણ બકરાં, મૃગલાં, સસલાં, માછલાં આદિક કોઈ જીવની હિંસા ન કરવી, કેમ જે અહિંસા છે તે જ મોટો ધર્મ છે એમ સર્વ શાસ્ત્રમાં કહ્યું છે.
Lipi: Anē devatā ane pitṛ tenā yajñne arthe pan bakarāṁ, mṛgalāṁ, sasalāṁ, mācalāṁ ādika ko’ī jīva-nī hinsā na karvī, kema je ahiṁsā che te je manuṣya pāḷe che tē manuṣya je tē ā lōkne viśe tathā paralōkne viśe mahādharma che ēm sarve śāstramāṁ kahyūṁ che
English: And for the deities and ancestors in their bali (sacrifices), no violence should be done to any living being, such as goats, deer, rabbits, fish, etc. This ahimsa (non-violence) is the highest dharma, as stated in all shastra.

Gujarati: અને સ્ત્રી, દ્રવ્ય અને રાજ્ય તેની પ્રાપ્તિને અર્થે પણ કોઈ મનુષ્યની હિંસા તો કોઈ પ્રકારે ક્યારેય પણ ન જ કરવી
Lipi: Anē strī, dhan ane rājya tenī prāpti ne arthe pan ko’ī manuṣya-nī himsā to ko’ī prakārē kyārē pan na karvī.
English: And a person should never commit himsa (violence) against anyone for the sake of obtaining women, wealth, or kingdom.

14.

Gujarati: અને આત્મઘાત તો તીર્થને વિષે પણ ન કરવો, ને ક્રોધે કરીને ન કરવો, અને ક્યારેક કોઈ અયોગ્ય આચરણ થઈ જાય તે થકી મુંઝાઈને પણ આત્મઘાત ન કરવો અને ઝેર ખાઈને તથા ગળે ટુંપો ખાઈને તથા કૂવે પડીને તથા પર્વત ઉપરથી પડીને ઈત્યાદિક કોઈ રીતે આત્મઘાત ન કરવો.
Lipi: Anē ātma-ghāt to tīrthan ne viṣe pan na karvo, ne krodhē karīne pan na karvo, ane kyārē koi ayōgya ācharaṇ thāy te thakī muṁjhāīne pan ātma-ghāt na karvo, ane jēra khaine tatha gale tunpo khaine tatha kuve padine tatha parvat parti padine ityadi koi rite aatmaghat na karvo
English: And never commit self-harm by visiting (tirthsthan) sacred places, nor by anger, and even if one’s conduct becomes improper, one should refrain from self-harm, by any means

15.

Gujarati: અને જે માંસ છે તે તો યજ્ઞનું શેષ હોય તો પણ આપત્કાળમાં પણ ક્યારેય ન ખાવું અને ત્રણ પ્રકારની સુરા અને અગિયાર પ્રકારનું મધ, તે દેવતાનું નૈવેદ્ય હોય તો પણ ન પીવું.
Lipi: Ane je maans chhe, te to yajṉṉuṁ shesh hoy to pan āpatkālmaṁ pan kyārēy n khāvu ane traṇ prakār-nī surā ane agiyāra prakār-nuṁ madh, te devtanu naivedya hoy to pan na pīvu.
English: And under any circumstances, one shall not eat meat, even if it is in the form of prasad. Nor shall one drink liquor, wine or intoxicating beverages even though it may be an offering to a deity.

16.

Gujarati: અને ક્યારેક પોતાથી કાંઈક અયોગ્ય આચરણ થઈ ગયું હોય અથવા કોઈ બીજાથી અયોગ્ય આચરણ થઈ ગયું હોય તો શસ્ત્રાદિકે કરીને અથવા ક્રોધે કરીને પણ પોતાના અંગનું તથા બીજાના અંગનું છેદન ન કરવું .
Lipi: Anē kyārēk potāthi kāṅ’īk ayōgya ācaraṇ thayuṁ hōy athavā kō’ī bījāthi ayōgya ācaraṇ thayuṁ hōy tō śastrādikē karīnē athavā krōdhē karīnē paṇa potānā aṅganuṁ tathā bījānā aṅganuṁ chēdana na karvūṁ.
English: And no one shall ever harm or cut any part of one’s body or that of others with a weapon or by any other means because of any unworthy deed either by oneself or by others.

17.

Gujarati: અને ધર્મ કરવાને અર્થે પણ અમારા સત્સંગીએ કોઈપણ ચોરીનું કર્મ ન કરવું. અને ધણિયાતું જે કાષ્ઠ, પુષ્પ, આદિક વસ્તુ તે તેના ધણીની આજ્ઞા વિના ન લેવું.
Lipi: Anē dharma karvānē arthē paṇa amārā satsaṅgī kō’īē cōranuṁ karma na karvūṁ. Anē dhaniyatunn jē kāṣṭha, puṣpa, ādika vastu tē tēnā dhaṇīnī āgñā vinā na lēvūṁ.
English: And one shall not commit theft, even for the sake of performing an act of Dharma. No article, even firewood, flowers etc., owned by others shall ever be taken without their owner’s permission.

18.

Gujarati: અને અમારા આશ્રિત જે પુરૂષ તથા સ્ત્રીઓ તેમણે વ્યભિચાર ન કરવો અને જુગટું આદિક જે વ્યસન તેનો ત્યાગ કરવો અને ભાંગ, મફર, માજમ, ગાંજો એ આદિક જે કેફ કરનારાં વસ્તુ તે ખાવી નહી અને પીવી પણ નહી
Lipi: Anē amārā āśrita jē puruṣa tathā strī’ō tēmaṇē vyabhicāra na karvō anē jugatunuṁ jē vyasana tēnō tyāga karvō anē bhāṅga, maphara, mājama, gāṅjō ē ādika jē kepha karānārāṁ vastu tē khāvi nahī anē pīvi paṇ nahī.
English: And my aashrit, both men and women, should not commit adultery, nor should they consume or drink intoxicants such as bhang, opium, alcohol, and marijuana, as well as other intoxicating substances.

19.

Gujarati: અને જેના હાથનું રાંધેલ અન્ન તથા જેના પાત્રનું જળ તે ખપતું ન હોય તેણે રાંધેલ અન્ન તથા તેના પાત્રનું જળ, તે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનની પ્રસાદી ચરણામૃતના માહાત્મ્યે કરીને પણ જગન્નાથપુરી વિના અન્ય સ્થાનકને વિષે ગ્રહણ ન કરવું અને જગન્નાથપુરીને વિષે જગન્નાથજીનો પ્રસાદ લેવાય તેનો દોષ નહિ
Lipi: Anē jēnā hāthanuṁ rāndhēla anna tathā jēnā pātranuṁ jala, tē khapatuṁ na hōy tēnē rāndhēla anna tathā tēnā pātranuṁ jala, tē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānani prasādī caraṇāmṛtana māhātmyē karīnē paṇa jagannāthapurī vinā anya sthānakanē viśē grahaṇa na karvūṁ anē jagannāthapurīnē viśē jagannāthajīnō prasāda lēvāya tēnō dōṣa nathi.
English: And one shall never accept food and water from any unknown person who is prohibited by holy scriptures, at any place, even if it is the Prasad except the Prasad at Jaganathpuri.

20.

Gujarati: અને પોતાના સ્વાર્થની સિદ્ધિને અર્થે પણ કોઈના પર મિથ્યા અપવાદ આરોપણ ન કરવો અને કોઈને ગાળ તો ક્યારેય ન દેવી.
Lipi: Anē potānā svārthanī siddhinē arthē paṇa kō’īna para mithyā apavāda ārōpaṇa na karvō anē kō’īnē gāḷa tō kyārē na dēvī.
English: And for one’s selfish desires, one shall never falsely accuse anyone, nor shall one ever use foul language against anyone.

21.

Gujarati: અને દેવતા, તીર્થ, બ્રાહ્મણ, પતિવ્રતા, સાધુ અને વેદ એમની નિંદા ક્યારેય ન કરવી અને ન સાંભળવી.
Lipi: Anē dēvatā, tīrtha, brāhmaṇa, pativrata, sādhu anē vēda ēmanī nindā kyarya na kārvī anē na sāṅbhaḷavī.
English: And one shall never defame Devata, tirthstan, Brahmins, devoted wives, holy persons, and the shastra, nor should one listen to such slander.

22.

Gujarati: જે દેવતાને સુરા અને માંસનું નૈવેદ્ય થતું હોય અને વળી જે દેવતાની આગળ બકરા આદિક જીવની હિંસા થતી હોય તે દેવતાનું નૈવેદ્ય ન ખાવું.
Lipi: jē dēvatānē surā anē māṁsanuṁ nai’ēvēdya thatuṁ hōy anē vaḷī jē dēvatānī āgaḷa bakarā ādika jīvanī hinsā thatī hōy tē dēvatānuṁ nai’ēvēdya na khāvuṁ.
English: And one shall never accept the prasad of those deities to whom wine and flesh are offered and before whom goats and such other animals are slaughtered.

23.

Gujarati: અને માર્ગને વિષે ચાલતે શિવાલયાદિક જે દેવમંદિર આવે તેને જોઈને તેને નમસ્કાર કરવો અને આદર થકી તે દેવનું દર્શન કરવું.
Lipi: Anē mārganē visē cālatē śivālayādika jē dēvamandira āvē tēnē jōinē tēnē namaskāra karvō anē ādara thakī tē dēvanuṁ darśana karvō
English: And when passing by the mandir of Shree Shiv Bhagwan and other Devata, one shall bow to them and pay due respect to the devata inside.

24.

Gujarati: અને પોતપોતાના વર્ણાશ્રમનો જે ધર્મ તે કોઈ સત્સંગીએ ત્યાગ ન કરવો ને પરધર્મનું આચરણ ન કરવું. તથા પાખંડ ધર્મનું આચરણ ન કરવું તથા કલ્પિત ધર્મનું આચરણ ન કરવું.
Lipi: Anē potapōtānā varṇāśramanō jē dharma tē kō’ī satsaṅgīē tyāga na karvō nē paradharmanuṁ ācaraṇa na karvō. Tathā pākhaṇḍa dharmanuṁ ācaraṇa na karvō anē kalpita dharmanuṁ ācaraṇa na karvō.
English: And one shall never abandon one’s own duties as ordained by one’s own varna (caste) and ashram (stage of life) nor follow a course of conduct prescribed for others nor follow any faith that is pretentious or fictitious.

25.

Gujarati: અને જેના વચનને સાંભળવે કરીને શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનની ભક્તિને પોતાનો ધર્મ એ બે થકી પડી જવાય તેનાં મુખ થકી ભગવાનની કથા-વાર્તા ન સાંભળવી.
Lipi: Anē jēnā vachanē sāṅbhaḷavē karīnē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānani bhakti nē potānō dharma ē bē thakī paḍī javāyē tēnāṁ mukha thakī bhagavānani kathāvārtā nē sāṅbhaḷavī.
English: And one shall never listen to any religious discourses from a person whose preaching might lead one away from the bhakti of Shree Krishna Bhagwan or one’s dharma.

26.

Gujarati: અને જે સત્ય વચન બોલવે કરીને પોતાનો દ્રોહ થાય તથા પારકો દ્રોહ થાય એવું જે સત્ય વચન તે ક્યારેય ન બોલવું, અને જે કૃત્ધની હોય તેના સંગનો ત્યાગ કરવો અને વ્યવહાર કાર્યને વિષે કોઈની લાંચ ન લેવી.
Lipi: Anē jē satya vacana bōlavē karīnē potānō drōha thāya tathā pārakō drōha thāya ēvuṁ jē satya vacana tē kyārē nā bōlavuṁ, anē jē kr̥tdhanī hōy tēnā saṅganō tyāga karvō anē vyavahāra kāryanē visē kō’īnī lān̄ca nā lēvī.
English: And one shall never speak such truth which might bring harm to oneself or others, nor keep the company of ungrateful people, nor take any bribe from anyone in social affairs.

27.

Gujarati: અને ચોર, પાપી, વ્યસની, પાખંડી, કામી તથા કિમિયા આદિક ક્રિયાએ કરીને જનનો ઠગનારો એ છ પ્રકારના જે મનુષ્ય તેમનો સંગ ન કરવો.
Lipi: Anē cōra, pāpī, vyasanī, pākhanḍī, kāmī tathā kimi’yā ādika krīyāē karīnē jananō ṭhagōnā ē chha prakāranā jē manuṣya tēmanō saṅga nā karvō.
English: And one shall never maintain company of 6 types of people like thieves, sinners, addicts, hypocrites, lustful and such other deceitful persons.

28.

Gujarati: અને જે મનુષ્ય ભક્તિનું અથવા જ્ઞાનનું આલંબન કરીને સ્ત્રી, દ્રવ્ય અને રસાસ્વાદ તેને વિષે અતિશય લોલુપથકા પાપને વિષે પ્રવર્તતા હોય તે મનુષ્યનો સમાગમ ન કરવો.
Lipi: Anē jē manuṣya bhaktinuṁ athavā gñānanuṁ ālambana karīnē strī, dravya anē rasāsvāda tēnē visē atiśaya lōlupa thakā pāpanē visē pravartatā hōy tē manuṣyanō samāgama nā karvō.
English: And one shall never have relations with any person who preaches religion or practices bhakti of Bhagwan as an excuse to seek wealth, women, or worldly pleasures, and commits sin.

29.

Gujarati: અને જે શાસ્ત્રને વિષે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાન તથા શ્રીકૃષ્ણભગવાનના જે વરાહાદિક અવતાર તેમનું યુક્તિએ કરીને ખંડન કર્યુ હોય એવા જે શાસ્ત્ર તે ક્યારેય ન માનવા અને ન સાંભળવા.
Lipi: Anē jē śāstranē visē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavāna tathā śrīkṛṣṇabhagavānana jē varāhādika avatāra tēmanuṁ yuktiē karīnē khandaṇa karyu hōy ēva jē śāstra tē kyārē nā mānavā anē nā sāṅbhaḷavā.
English: And one shall never listen to or believe shastras where the existence of Shree Krishna Bhagwan and his avatars have been skilfully and deceitfully denied or degraded.

30.

Gujarati: અને ગાળ્યા વિનાનું જે જળ તથા દૂધ તે ન પીવું અને જે જળને વિષે ઝીણા જીવ ઘણા હોય તે જળે કરીને સ્નાનાદિક ક્રિયા ન કરવી.
Lipi: Anē gāḷyā vinānuṁ jē jala tathā dūdha tē nā pīvuṁ anē jē jalanē visē jhīṇā jīva ghaṇāṁk hōy tē jalē karīnē snānādika krīyā nā karvī.
English: And one shall never drink unfiltered water or milk nor bathe with water which contains many organisms.

31.

Gujarati: અને જે ઔષધ દારૂ તથા માંસ તેણે યુક્ત હોય તે ઔષધ ક્યારેય ન ખાવું અને વળી જે વૈદ્યના આચરણને જાણતા ન હોઈએ તે વૈદ્યે આપ્યું જે ઔષધ તે પણ ક્યારેય ન ખાવું
Lipi: Anē jē auṣadha dārū tathā māṁsa tēṇē yukta hōy tē auṣadha kyārē nā khāvuṁ anē vaḷī jē vaidyanā ācaraṇanē jāṇatā nahiē tē vaidyē āpyuṁ jē auṣadha tē paṇa kyārē nā khāvuṁ.
English: And one shall never take any medicine which contains alcohol or meat and extract of any living being, nor take medicine from an unknown Vaidya (doctor).

Gujarati: અને લોક ને શાસ્ત્ર તેમણે મળમૂત્ર કરવાને અર્થે વર્જ્યા એવા સ્થાનક, જે જીર્ણ દેવાલય તથા નદી-તળાવના આરા તથા માર્ગ તથા વાવેલું ખેતર તથા વૃક્ષની છાયા તથા ફુલવાડી બગીચાએ આદિક જે સ્થાનક તેમને વિષે ક્યારેય પણ મળ- મૂત્ર ન કરવું તથા થૂંકવું પણ નહિ.
Lipi: Anē lōka nē śāstra tēmanē malamūtra karavānē arthē varjyā ēva sthānaka, jē jīrṇa dēvālaya tathā nadī-ṭalāvana ārā tathā mārga tathā vāvēluṁ khētara tathā vṛkṣanī chāyā tathā phulavāḍī bagīcā ē ādika jē sthānaka tēmanē visē kyārē panu mūtra nā karvī tathā thūn̐kavūṁ paṇa nahī.
English: And one shall never excrete, urinate or spit in places that have been prohibited by shastras and societal norms such as mandirs, banks of rivers or ponds, main roads, fields, trees, orchards, gardens, etc.

33.

Gujarati: અને ચોર માર્ગે કરીને પેસવું નહિ અને નિકળવું નહિ અને જે સ્થાનક ધણીયાતું હોય તે સ્થાનકને વિષે તેના ધણીને પૂછ્યા વિના ઉતારો ન કરવો.
Lipi: Anē cōramārgē karīnē pēsavuṁ nahi anē nisaravuṁ nahi anē jē sthānaka dhṇīyātuṁ hōy tē sthānakanē visē tēnā dhaṇīnē pūchhyā vinā utārō nā karvō.
English: And one shall never enter or exit through an unsual way and shall not occupy any private property without the permission of its owner.

34.

Gujarati: અને અમારા સત્સંગી જે પુરુષ માત્ર તેમણે બાઈ માણસના મુખથકી જ્ઞાનવાર્તા ન સાંભળવી અને સ્ત્રીઓ સાથે વિવાદ ન કરવો તથા રાજા સંગાથે તથા રાજાના માણસ સંગાથે વિવાદ ન કરવો.
Lipi: Anē amārā satsaṅgī jē puruṣa mātra tēmanē bā’ī māṇasanā mukhathakī gñānavārtā nā sāṅbhaḷavī anē strī’ō sātha vivāda nā karvō tathā rājā saṅgāthē tathā rājānā māṇasan saṅgāthē vivāda nā karvō.
English: And my male disciples shall never listen to the religious discourses given by females, nor enter into arguments with females, rulers, and courtiers.

35.

Gujarati: અને ગુરૂનું અપમાન ન કરવું તથા જે અતિશય શ્રેષ્ઠ મનુષ્ય હોય તથા જે લોકને વિષે પ્રતિષ્ઠિત મનુષ્ય હોય તથા જે વિદ્વાન મનુષ્ય હોય તથા જે શસ્ત્રધારી મનુષ્ય હોય તે સર્વેનું અપમાન ન કરવું.
Lipi: Anē gurūnuṁ apamāna nā karvūṁ tathā jē atiśaya śrēṣṭha manuṣya hōy tathā jē lōk nē visē pratishṭhita manuṣya hōy tathā jē vidvāna manuṣya hōy tathā jē śastra-dhārī manuṣya hōy tē sarvēnuṁ apamāna nā karvūṁ.
English: And one shall never insult a Guru, those who are dignified, reputed and respected people of society, learned or armed people.

36.

Gujarati: અને વિચાર્યા વિના તત્કાળ કોઈ કાર્ય ન કરવું અને ધર્મ સંબંધી જે કાર્ય તે તો તત્કાળ કરવું અને પોતે જે વિદ્યા ભણ્યા હોઈએ તે બીજાને ભણાવવી અને નિત્ય પ્રત્યે સાધુનો સમાગમ કરવો.
Lipi: Anē vichāryā vinā tatkāla kān’ī kārya na karvuṁ anē dharm sambandhī jē kārya tē tō tatkāla karvuṁ anē pōtē jē vidyā bhaṇ’yā hō’īē tē bījānē bhaṇāvavī anē nitya pratyē sādhu nō samāgam karvō.
English: And one shall never perform duties pertaining to one’s social affairs immediately without careful consideration, where as duties pertaining to Dharma shall be performed immediately. Those who are learned shall impart their knowledge to others and shall regularly associate with Sadhus.

37.

Gujarati: અને ગુરૂ, દેવ અને રાજા એ ત્રણના દર્શનને અર્થે જ્યારે જવું ત્યારે ઠાલે હાથે ન જવું અને કોઈનો વિશ્વાસઘાત ન કરવો અને પોતાને મુખે કરીને પોતાના વખાણ ન કરવા.
Lipi: Anē gurū, dēva anē rājā ē traṇanā darśanē arthē jyārē javuṁ tyārē khālē hāthē na javuṁ anē kō’īnō visvāsaghāt na karvō anē pōtānē mukhē karīnē pōtānā vakhāṇ na karvā.
English: And one shall never go empty handed to a Guru, a Devata or a king. And one shall never commit a breach of trust and shall never boast about oneself.

38.

Gujarati: ને જે વસ્ત્ર પહેર્યે થકે પણ પોતાના અંગ દેખાય તેવું જે ભુંડુ વસ્ત્ર તે અમારા સત્સંગી તેમણે ન પહેરવું.
Lipi: Anē jē vastr pahēryē thakē pana pōtānā aṅga dēkhāy tēvuṁ jē bhundu vastr tē amārā satsaṅgī tēmaṇē na pahērvuṁ.
English: And my aashrits shall never wear such clothes that cause any indecent exposure of the body such as transparent, over tight and short clothes which are stimulating.

39.

Gujarati: અને શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનની જે ભક્તિ તે ધર્મેરહિત એવી કોઈ પ્રકારે ન કરવી અને અજ્ઞાની એવા જે મનુષ્ય તેમની નિંદાના ભય થકી શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનની સેવાનો ત્યાગ કરવો જ નહિ.
Lipi: Anē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavān’ni jē bhakti tē dharmēra-hita ēvī kō’ī prakārē na karvī anē ajñān’ī ēvā jē manuṣya tēmanī nindānā bhay thakī śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavān’ni sēvānō tyāga karvō jē nahī.
English: And one shall never practice bhakti of Shree Krishna Bhagwan without observance of Dharma and one shall never give up the seva of Shree Krishna Bhagwan for fear of being criticised by ignorant people.

40.

Gujarati: અને ઉત્સવના દિવસને વિષે તથા નિત્ય પ્રત્યે શ્રીકૃષ્ણના મંદિરમાં આવ્યા એવા જે સત્સંગી પુરૂષ તેમણે તે મંદિરને વિષે સ્ત્રીઓનો સ્પર્શ ન કરવો તથા સ્ત્રીઓ તેમણે પુરુષનો સ્પર્શ ન કરવો અને મંદિરમાંથી નિસર્યા પછી પોતપોતાની રીતે વર્તવું.
Lipi: Anē utsavanā divasanē visē anē nitya pratyē śrīkṛṣṇanā manḍiramāṁ āvyā ēvā jē satsaṅgī puruṣ tēmanē tē manḍirnē visē strī’ōnō sparśa na karvō anē strī’ō tēmanē puruṣanō sparśa na karvō anē manḍiramāṁthī nisaryā pachhī pōtapōtānī rītē vartavuṁ.
English: And all those who come to the mandir of Shree Krishna Bhagwan either daily or on festival days, shall keep themselves away from the opposite gender in the mandir.

41.

Gujarati: અને ધર્મવંશી ગુરુથકી શ્રીકૃષ્ણની દીક્ષાને પામ્યા એવા જે બ્રાહ્મણ, ક્ષત્રિય અને વૈશ્ય એ ત્રણ વર્ણના અમારા સત્સંગી, તેમણે કંઠને વિષે તુલસીની બેવડી માળા નિત્યે ધારવી અને લલાટ, હૃદય અને બે હાથ એ ચારે ઠેકાણે ઊર્ધ્વપુંડ્ર તિલક કરવું.
Lipi: Anē dharmavaṁśī guruthakī śrīkṛṣṇanī dīkṣānē pāmyā ēvā jē brāhmaṇa, kṣatriya anē vaiśya ē traṇa varṇanā amārā satsaṅgī, tēmanē kaṇṭhanē visē tulasīnī bēvaḍī māḷā nityē dhārvī anē lalaṭa, hṛdaya anē bē hātha ē cārē ṭhēkāṇē ūrdhvapuṇḍra tilaka karvū.
English: And all my aashrits who have been initiated into diksha of Shree Krishna Bhagwan by the Acharya shall always wear around their neck a two-fold Kanthi prepared from Tulsi wood and shall mark their forehead, chest and both arms with a Tilak (Urdhva-pundra).

42.

Gujarati: અને તે તિલક જે તે ગોપીચંદને કરીને કરવું, અથવા ભગવાનની પૂજા કરતાં બાકી રહ્યું અને કેશર કુંકુમાદિકે યુક્ત એવું જે પ્રસાદી ચંદન તેણે કરીને તિલક કરવું.
Lipi: Anē tē tilaka jē tē gōpīcandana nē karīnē karvū, athavā bhagavān’ni pūjā karatāṁ bākī rahyuṁ anē keśara kuṅkumādika yukta ēvū jē prasādī candana tēmanē karīnē tilaka karvū.
English: And the tilak shall be made with Gopichandan stick or with consecrated sandal paste mixed with Kum-Kum and saffron duly offered to Shree Krishna Bhagwan.

43.

Gujarati: અને તે તિલકના મધને વિષે જ ગોળ એવો જે ચાંદલો તે જેતે ગોપીચંદને કરીને કરવો અથવા રાધિકાજી અને લક્ષ્મીજી તેનું પ્રસાદીનું એવું જે કુંકુમ તેણે કરીને તે ચાંદલો કરવો.
Lipi: Anē tē tilaknā madh, nē visē jē gōḷa ēvu jē chāndalō tē jē tē gōpīcandana nē karīnē karvū athavā rādhikājī anē lakṣmījī tēnuṁ prasādī ēvū jē kumkuma tēmanē karīnē tē chāndalō karvū.
English: And in the center of the tilak, one shall make a chandlo (round mark) from either Gopichandan or Kum-Kum which has been offered to Radhikaji or Laxmiji.

44.

Gujarati: અને પોતાના ધર્મને વિષે રહ્યા અને શ્રીકૃષ્ણના ભક્ત એવા સતશુદ્ર તેમણે તો તુલસીની માળા અને ઊર્ધ્વપુંડ્ર તિલક તે બ્રાહ્મણ, ક્ષત્રિય, વૈશ્યની પેઠે ધારવા.
Lipi: Anē pōtānā dharmanē visē rahyā anē śrīkṛṣṇanā bhakta ēvā satsudra tēmanē tō tulasīnī māḷā anē ūrdhvapuṇḍra tilaka tē brāhmaṇa, kṣatriya, vaiśyanī pēṭhē dhārvā.
English: And sat-shudra(shudras performing good deeds), who are bhakts of Shree Krishna Bhagwan, observing their Dharma, shall also wear a Tulsi kanthi and tilak.(just like brahman, kshariya, and vaishya)

Gujarati: અને તે સતશુદ્ર થકી બીજા જે જાતિએ કરીને ઉતરતા એવા ભક્તજન તેમણે તો ચંદનાદિક કાષ્ઠની જે બેવડી માળા તે ભગવાનની પ્રસાદી કરાવીને કંઠને વિષે ધારવી અને લલાટને વિષે કેવળ ચાંદલો કરવો પણ તિલક ન કરવું.
Lipi: Anē tē satasudra thakī bījā jē jātiē karīnē utaratā ēvā bhakta-jana tēmanē tō chandananādika kāṣṭhanī māḷā tē bhagavān’nī prasādī karaṁvīnē kaṇṭhanē visē dhārvī anē lalaṭanē visē kevāla chāndalō karvū paṇa tilaka nā karvū.
English: And my aashrits who belong to the caste lower than the sat-shudra (pure shudra) shall wear a kanthi (sanctified double rosary of sandalwood) around their neck and shall place only a chandlo on their forehead but not a tilak.

Gujarati: અને જે બ્રાહ્મણાદિકને ત્રિપુંડ જેવું આડું તિલક કરવું તથા રુદ્રાક્ષની માળા ધારવી- એ બે વાનાં પોતાની કુળ પરંપરાએ કરીને ચાલ્યાં આવ્યાં હોય અને તે બ્રાહ્મણાદિક અમારા આશ્રિત થયા હોય તો પણ તેમણે તે ત્રિપુંડ અને રુદ્રાક્ષનો ક્યારેય ત્યાગ ન કરવો
Lipi: Anē jē brāhmaṇādiknē tripuṁḍ jē āḍuṁ tilaka karvuṁ tathā rudrākṣanī māḷā dhārvī – ē bē vānā pōtānī kuḷa paraṁparāē karīnē chālyāṁ āvyāṁ hōy anē tē brāhmaṇādika amārā āśrita thayā hōy tō paṇa tēmaṇē tē tripuṁḍ ane rudrākṣanō kyārēya tyāga na karvō.
English: And Brahmins and others who have, for generations, marked their foreheads with tripundra (a three-fold horizontal mark) and worn a necklace made of Rudraksh beads because of family traditions and customs, shall continue to do so even after becoming my aashrit.

Gujarati: અને નારાયણ અને શિવજી એ બેનું એકાત્મપણું જ જાણવું, કેમ જે વેદને વિષે એ બેનું બ્રહ્મરૂપે કરીને પ્રતિપાદન કર્યુ છે.
Lipi: Anē nārāyaṇa anē śivajī ē bēnuṁ ēkātmapuṇuṁ jē jāṇavuṁ, kēma jē vēdana visē ē bēyanuṁ brahmarūpē karīnē pratipādana karyu chē.
English: And all aashrits shall believe Narayan and Shivaji are one because, as per Vedas, it is established that Narayan and Shivaji are one Brahmaswarup.

Gujarati: અને અમારા આશ્રિત જે મનુષ્ય તેમણે શાસ્ત્રે કહ્યો જે આપદધર્મ તે અલ્પ આપત્કાળને વિષે મુખ્યપણે કરીને ક્યારેય ગ્રહણ ન કરવો.
Lipi: Anē amārā āśrita jē manuṣya tēmaṇē śāstrē kahyō jē āpadadharm tē alpa āpatkāḷanē visē mukhyapaṇē karīnē kyārē grahaṇa na karvō.
English: And my aashrits shall not accept and practice, Aapatkaal Dharma (shastras permits flexibility in life-or-death situations), when there are no adverse conditions.

49.

Gujarati: અને અમારા સત્સંગી તેમણે નિત્યે સૂર્ય ઉગ્યાંથી પહેલા જ જાગવું અને શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનનું સ્મરણ કરીને પછી શૌચવિધિ કરવા જવું.
Lipi: Anē amārā satsaṅgī tēmaṇē nityē sūrya ugyānthī prathama jē jāgavuṁ anē śrīkṛiṣhṇa bhagavān nu smaraṇ karīnē pachhī śaucavidhi karvā javu.
English: And all my aashrits shall get up daily before sunrise, meditate upon Shree Krishna Bhagwan, and then go to answer the call of nature.

50.

Gujarati: અને પછી એક સ્થાનકને વિષે બેસીને દાતણ કરવું અને પછી પવિત્ર જળે કરીને સ્નાન કરીને પછી ધોયેલું વસ્ત્ર એક પહેરવું અને એક ઓઢવું.
Lipi: Anē pachhī ēka sthānakanē viṣē bēsīnē dātaṇa karvuṁ anē pachhī pavitra jalē karīnē snāna karīnē pachhī dhōyeluṁ vastru ēk pahērvuṁ anē ēk ōḍhavuṁ.
English: And thereafter, sitting in one place, they shall brush their teeth, bathe with clean water, and then wear one washed cloth around the waist and one around the upper part of the body.

51.

Gujarati: અને તે પછી પવિત્ર પૃથ્વીને વિષે પાથરેલુ અને શુદ્ધ કોઈ બીજા આસનને અડ્યું ન હોય અને જે ઉપર સારી પેઠે બેસાય એવું જે આસન તેને વિષે પૂર્વમુખે અથવા ઉત્તરમુખે બેસીને આચમન કરવું.
Lipi: Anē tē vāra pachhī pavitra pṛthvīnē viṣē pātharyu anē śuddha nē kō’ī bījā āsananē aḍyuṁ n a hōy anē jē upara sārī pēṭhē bēsāy ēvu jē āsana tēnē viṣē pūrvamukhē athavā uttaramukhē bēsīnē ē ācamana karvū.
English: And then they shall sit cross-legged on the floor in a clean place, on a clean and suitable cloth, untouched by others or any other thing, facing north or east, shall perform achaman (purification ritual of sipping water 3 times)

Gujarati: અને પછી સત્સંગી પુરૂષમાત્રને ચાંદલે સહિત ઊર્ધ્વપુંડ્ર તિલક કરવું અને સુવાસિની જે સ્ત્રીઓ, તેમણે તો પોતાના ભાલને વિષે કુંકુમનો ચાંદલો કરવો.
Lipi: Anē pachhī satsaṅgī puruṣamātra nē chāndalē sahita ūrdhvapuṇḍra tilaka karvū anē suvāsinī jē strī’ō, tēmaṇē tō pōtānā bhālanē visē kuṅkuma no chāndalō karvū
English: And all my male aashrit shall mark their foreheads with a tilak and a chandlo in the center of it. All married women shall make only a chandlo of Kum-Kum on their forehead.

Gujarati: અને વિધવા સ્ત્રીઓએ પોતાના ભાલને વિષે તિલક ન કરવું ને ચાંદલો પણ ન કરવો, તે પછી તે સર્વે જે અમારા સત્સંગી, તેમણે મને કરીને કલ્પ્યાં જે ચંદન પુષ્પાદિક ઉપચાર તેમણે કરીને શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનની માનસી પૂજા કરવી.
Lipi: Anē tē vi dhavā strī’ō mātrānē pōtānā bhālanē visē tilaka na karvū nē chāndalō paṇa na karvū, anē tē pachhī tē sarvē jē amārā satsaṅgī, tēmaṇē manē karīnē kalpyā jē chandana puṣpādika upacāra tēmaṇē karīnē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānnī mānasī pūjā karvī.
English: And all my female aashrit who are widows shall not mark their foreheads with either a tilak or chandlo. They shall then meditate upon Shree Krishna Bhagwan and perform mansi puja by mentally offering sandalwood, flowers etc.

54.

Gujarati: અને તે પછી જે શ્રીરાધાકૃષ્ણની ચિત્રપ્રતિમા તેનું આદર થકી દર્શન કરીને નમસ્કાર કરીને પછી પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે શ્રીકૃષ્ણનો જે અષ્ટાક્ષર મંત્ર તેનો જપ કરીને તે પછી પોતાનું વ્યવહારિક કામકાજ કરવું.
Lipi: Anē tē pachhī śrīrādhākṛṣṇanī jē citra pratimā tēnu ādara thakī darśana karīnē namaskāra karīnē pachhī potānā sāmarthya pramāṇē śrīkṛṣṇano jē aṣṭākṣara mantra tēno jap karīnē tē pachhī potānū vyavahārik kāmakāj karvū.
English: And then they shall, with due respect, bow down before the images of Shree Radha Krishna Dev and recite Ashtaakshar mantra (eight syllabled holy Mantra of Shree Krishna Bhagwan given by diksha guru (Acharya)) according to their capacity and then perform their daily routines.

55.

Gujarati: અને જે અમારા સત્સંગિમાં અંબરીષ રાજાની પેઠે આત્મનિવેદી એવા ઉત્તમ ભક્ત હોય તેમણે પણ પ્રથમ કહ્યું તેવી રીતે અનુક્રમે કરીને માનસી પૂજા પર્યન્ત સર્વે ક્રિયા કરવી.
Lipi: Anē jē amārā satsaṅgīmāṁ ambarīṣa rājānī pēṭhē ātmanivēdi ēvu uttam bhakta hōy tēmaṇē paṇa pratham kahyuṁ tēvī rītē anukramē karīnē mānasī pūjā paryanta sarvē kriyā karvī.
English: And those of my aashrits who are Atmanivedi (dedicated their lives to the seva of Bhagwan) like king Ambarisha, shall also perform the sequence of rituals as described above, up to the meditation upon Shree Krishna Bhagwan.

Gujarati: અને તે જે આત્મનિવેદી ભક્ત તેમણે પાષાણની અથવા ધાતુની જે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનની પ્રતિમા અથવા શાલિગ્રામ તેની જે પૂજા તે દેશકાળને અનુસરીને પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે પ્રાપ્ત થયાં જે ચંદન, પુષ્પ, ફળાદિક વસ્તુ તેણે કરીને કરવી, અને પછી શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનનો જે અષ્ટાક્ષર મંત્ર તેનો જપ કરવો.
Lipi: Ane te je ātmanivēdī bhakta temṇē pāṣāṇnī athavā dhātunī je śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānnī pratimā athavā śāligrāma, tenī je pūjā te deśakālēnē anusārīnē pōtānā sāmarthyapramaṇē prāpt thyāṁ je chandana, puṣpa, phalādika vastu tenē karīnē karvī ane pachhī śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānnō je aṣṭākṣara mantra tenō jap karvō.
English: And my Atmanivedi bhakts shall worship Shaligram or the idol of Shree Krishna Bhagwan made from stone or metal, with offerings of sandalwood, flowers, fruits etc. as per avilability at the time. Then they shall recite the Ashtaakshar mantra as per their capacity.

57.

Gujarati: અને તે પછી શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનના જે સ્તોત્ર અથવા ગ્રંથ તેનો જે પાઠ તે પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે કરવો, અને જે સંસ્કૃત ન ભણ્યા હોય તેમણે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનનું નામ કીર્તન કરવું.
Lipi: Ane te pachhī śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānnā je stōtra athavā grantha tenō je pāṭha te pōtānā sāmarthyapramaṇē karvō, ane je sanskrit n bhanyā hoy temṇē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānnuṁ nāma kīrtana karvū.
English: And all aashrits shall then read stotra (hymns) or the shastras about Shree Krishna Bhagwan according to their ability. Those who do not know Sanskrit shall sing kirtans in praise of Shree Krishna Bhagwan and chant his name.

58.

Gujarati: અને પછી શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનને નૈવેદ્ય કરીને પછી તે પ્રસાદિ એવું જે અન્ન તે જમવું અને તે જે આત્મનિવેદી વૈષ્ણવ તેમણે સર્વકાળને વિષે પ્રીતિએ કરીને શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનની સેવાપરાયણ થવું.
Lipi: Ane pachhī śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānnenai naivēdya karīnē pachhī te prasādī evuṁ je anna te jamavuṁ ane te je ātmanivēdī vaiṣṇava temṇē sarvakālnē viṣē prītiē karīnē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānnī sevāparāyaṇ thavuṁ.
English: And then they shall offer naivedya (food) to him and then shall eat it after, accepting it as prasad, and they shall thus always remain in service of Shree Krishna Bhagwan with love.

59.

Gujarati: અને નિર્ગુણ કહેતાં માયાના જે સત્વાદિક ત્રણ ગુણ તેણે રહિત એવા જે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાન, તેના સંબંધ થકી તે આત્મનિવેદી ભક્તની જે સર્વે ક્રિયા તે નિર્ગુણ થાય છે તે હેતુ માટે તે આત્મનિવેદી ભક્ત જે તે નિર્ગુણ કહ્યા છે.
Lipi: Ane nirguṇa kahetāṁ māyānā je satvādika traṇa guṇ tenē rahit ēvā je śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavān, tenā sambandha thakī te ātmanivēdī bhakta nī je sarvē kriyā ten nirguṇa thāy che tahētu māṭē te ātmanivēdī bhakta je te nirguṇa kahyā che.
English: And these Atmanivedi bhakts are considered as nirgun (free from the three qualities of maya: satvik, rajas and tamas) because all their deeds are purified by their continuous and devout connection with Shree Krishna Bhagwan who is always nirgun.

Gujarati: અને એ જે આત્મનિવેદી ભક્ત, તેમણે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનને અર્પણ કર્યા વિનાનું જળ પણ ક્યારેય ન પીવું અને પત્ર, કંદ ફળાદિક જે વસ્તુ તે પણ શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનને અર્પણ કર્યા વિનાનું ન ખાવું.
Lipi: Ane ē je ātmanivēdī bhakta, temṇē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānnē arpṇa karyā vinānuṁ jal paṇ kyarē n piyuṁ ane patra, kanda, phalādika je vastu te paṇ śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānnē arpṇa karyā vinānuṁ n khāvuṁ.
English: And these Atmanivedi bhaktas shall never drink water nor shall eat leaves, fruits, roots, etc., without first offering it to Shree Krishna Bhagwan.

Gujarati: અને વળી સર્વે જે અમારા સત્સંગી તેમણે વૃધ્ધપણા થકી અથવા કોઈ મોટા આપત્કાળે કરીને અસમર્થપણું થઈ ગયે સતે પોતે સેવવાનું જે શ્રીકૃષ્ણનું સ્વરૂપ, તે બીજા ભક્તને આપીને પોતે પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે વર્તવું.
Lipi: Ane vaḷī sarvē je amārā satsaṅgī temṇē vṛiddhapṇā thakī athavā kō’ī mōṭā āpatkāḷē karīnē asamarthapṇuṁ thaī gayē satē pōtē sēvavānuṁ je śrīkṛṣṇanuṁ svarūpa, tē bījā bhaktanē āpīnē pōtē pōtānā sāmarthyapramaṇē vartavuṁ.
English: And my aashrits who have become disabled by old age or by some extreme adversity shall give their idols of Shree Krishna Bhagwan, which they have worshipped, to another one of my bhaktas. The disabled aashrit shall thereafter worship Shree Krishna Bhagwan to the best of their ability.

Gujarati: અને જે શ્રીકૃષ્ણનું સ્વરૂપ પોતાને સેવવાને અર્થે ધર્મવંશના જે આચાર્ય, તેમણે જ આપ્યું હોય અથવા તે આચાર્યે જે સ્વરૂપની પ્રતિષ્ઠા કરી હોય તે જ સ્વરૂપને સેવવું અને તે વિના બીજું જે શ્રીકૃષ્ણનું સ્વરૂપ, તે તો નમસ્કાર કરવા યોગ્ય છે પણ સેવવા યોગ્ય નથી.
Lipi: Ane je śrīkṛṣṇanuṁ svarūpa pōtānē sēvavānē arthē dharmavaṁśanā je ācārya, temṇē jē āpyuṁ hoy athavā tē ācāryē jē svarūpanī pratiṣṭhā karī hoy, tē jē svarūpanē sēvavuṁ ane tē vinā bījuṁ je śrīkṛṣṇanuṁ svarūpa, tē tō namaskāra karvā yōgya che paṇ sēvavā yōgya nathī.
English: And all aashrits shall worship only those idols of Shree Krishna Bhagwan which have been given to them by the Acharya or installed by him. Other idols are worthy of being respected and bowed to, but not served.

Gujarati: અને અમારા જે સર્વે સત્સંગી તેમણે નિત્ય પ્રત્યે સાયંકાળે ભગવાનના મંદિર પ્રત્યે જવું અને તે મંદિરને વિષે શ્રીરાધિકાજીના પતિ એવા જે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાન તેના નામનું ઉચ્ચ સ્વરે કરીને કીર્તન કરવું.
Lipi: Ane amārā jē sarvē satsaṅgī temṇē nitya pratyē sāyaṁkālē bhagavānnā mandira pratyē javuṁ ane tē mandiranē viśē śrīrādhikājīnā pati evā je śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānnā nāmanuṁ ūn̄chē svarē karīnē kīrtana karvu.
English: And all my aashrits shall go to mandir everyday in the evening and there, they shall sing kirtans in praise of Shree Krishna Bhagwan.

Gujarati: અને તે શ્રીકૃષ્ણની જે કથા વાર્તા, તે પરમ આદર થકી કરવી ને સાંભળવી અને ઉત્સવને દિવસે વાજીંત્ર સહિત શ્રીકૃષ્ણનાં કીર્તન કરવા.
Lipi: Ane tē śrīkṛṣṇanī je kathā vārtā, tē parama ādara thakī karvī nē sāṁbhaḷvī ane utsavanē divasē vājīntrē sahita śrīkṛṣṇanāṁ kīrtana karvā.
English: And all aashrits shall read and listen to shastras related to Shree Krishna Bhagwan with deep reverence, and shall celebrate all utsavs with his songs, in company with musical instruments.

Gujarati: અને અમારા આશ્રિત જે સર્વે સત્સંગી, તેમણે જે પ્રકારે પૂર્વે કહ્યું એ પ્રકારે કરીને જ નિત્ય પ્રત્યે કરવું અને સંસ્કૃત અને પ્રાકૃત એવા જે સદગ્રંથ તેમનો અભ્યાસ પણ પોતાની બુધ્ધિને અનુસારે કરવો.
Lipi: Ane amārā āśrita je sarvē satsaṅgī, temṇē jē prakārē pūrvē kahyu ē prakārē karīnē j nitya pratyē karavuṁ ane samskr̥ta ane prākr̥ta ēvā jē sadgrantha temnō abhyāsa paṇ pōtānī buddhi nē anusārē karavō.
English: And all my aashrit shall always behave as per my agyna (instructions) and shall study the shastras in Sanskrit and Prakrit (vernacular languages originated from Sanskrit) to the best of their abilities.

Gujarati: અને જે મનુષ્ય જેવા ગુણે કરીને યુક્ત હોય, તે મનુષ્યને તેવા કાર્યને વિષે વિચારીને જ પ્રેરવો, પણ જે કાર્યને વિષે જે યોગ્ય ન હોય તે કાર્યને વિષે તેને ક્યારેય ન પ્રેરવો.
Lipi: Ane je manuṣya jevā guṇē karīnē yukta hōy, tē manuṣyanē tēvā kāryanē visē vicārīnē j preravō, paṇ jē kāryanē visē jē yōgya n hōy tē kāryanē visē tēnē kyārēy n preravō.
English: And all my aashrit should assign work to a person according to their capability only, and not otherwise.

Gujarati: અને પોતાના જે સેવક હોય, તે સર્વની પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે અન્નવસ્ત્રાદિકે કરીને યથાયોગ્ય સંભાવના નિરંતર રાખવી.
Lipi: Ane pōtānā jē sēvaka hōy, tē sarvanī pōtānā sāmarthyapramaṇē annavastrādikē karīnē yathāyōgya sanbhāvanā nirantara rākhavī.
English: And my aashrits shall take care of their workers with regards to food and clothing to the best of their abilities.

Gujarati: અને જે પુરુષ જેવા ગુણવાળો હોય તે પુરુષને તેવા વચને કરીને દેશ કાળાનુસારે યથાયોગ્ય બોલાવવો પણ એથી બીજી રીતે ન બોલાવવો.
Lipi: Ane jē puruṣa jevā guṇavālō hōy, tē puruṣanē tēvā vachanē karīnē dēśakālānusārē yathāyōgya bōlāvavō paṇ ēthē bījī rītē n bōlāvavō.
English: And my aashrits should address a person according to his status, taking into consideration the time and place, but not otherwise.

Gujarati: અને વિનયે કરીને યુક્ત એવા જે અમારા આશ્રિત સત્સંગી-તેમણે ગુરુ, રાજા, અતિવૃધ્ધ, ત્યાગી, વિદ્વાન અને તપસ્વી એ છ જણા આવે ત્યારે સન્મુખ ઉઠવું તથા આસન આપવું તથા મધુરે વચને બોલાવવું ઈત્યાદિક ક્રિયાએ કરીને એમનું સન્માન કરવું.
Lipi: Ane vinayē karīnē yukta ēvā jē amārā āśrita satsaṅgī-temaṇē guru, rājā, ativr̥ddha, tyāgī, vidvāna ane tapasvī ē cha jaṇā āvē tyārē sanmukha utthavuṁ tathā āsana āpavuṁ tathā madhurē vachanē bōlāvavuṁ ītyādik kriyāē karīnē ēmanuṁ sanmāna karavuṁ.
English: And upon the arrival of a guru, a king, a very old person, a renounced person, a scholar or a tyagi (ascetic), my aashrits shall give a respectful welcome by rising up from their seat, bowing down, offering a seat and saying pleasant words.

Gujarati: અને ગુરુ, દેવ ને રાજા એમને સમીપે તથા સભાને વિષે પગ ઉપર પગ ચઢાવીને ન બેસવું તથા વસ્ત્રે કરીને ઢિંચણ ને બાંધીને ન બેસવું.
Lipi: Ane guru, dev ne raja emne samipe tatha sabhane vishe pag upar pag chadhavine na besvu tatha vastre karine dhichan ne baandhine n besvu
English: And one shall not sit with one leg over the other or with knees bound with a cloth strap in the presence of a guru, dev, king or in a sabha.

Gujarati: અને અમારા આશ્રિત જે સર્વ સત્સંગી તેમણે પોતાના આચાર્ય સંગાથે ક્યારેય પણ વિવાદ ન કરવો અને પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે અન્ન, ધન, વસ્ત્રાદિકે કરીને તે પોતાના આચાર્યને પૂજવા.
Lipi: Ane amārā āśrita jē sarva satsaṅgī tēmaṇē pōtānā ācārya saṅgāthē kyārē paṇa vivāda n karavō ane pōtānā sāmarthya pramaṇē anna, dhana, vastrādikē karīnē tē pōtānā ācāryanē pūjavā.
English: And my aashrits shall never enter into vivaad (disagreements) with their Acharya, but shall honor and serve him by offering food, money, clothing, etc. according to their abilities.

Gujarati: અમારા જે આશ્રિત જન તેમણે પોતાના આચાર્યને આવતા સાંભળીને આદર થકી તત્કાળ સન્મુખ જવું અને તે આચાર્ય પોતાના ગામથી પાછા પધારે ત્યારે ગામની ભાગોળ સુધી વળાવવા જવું.
Lipi: Amārā jē āśrita jana tēmaṇē pōtānā ācāryanē āvatā sāmbhalīnē ādara thakī tatkāla sanmukha javu ane tē ācārya pōtānā gāmthī pāchā padhārē tʰyārē gāmṇī bhāgoḷa sudhī vaḷāvavā javu.
English: On hearing the news of the arrival of the Acharya, my aashrits shall go forth to the outskirts of the village or town to welcome him with honor and respect, and on his departure shall accompany him up to the outskirts of the village or town to bid him farewell.

Gujarati: અને ઘણુંક છે ફળ જેને વિષે એવું પણ જે કર્મ, તે જો ધર્મે રહિત હોય તો તેનું આચરણ ન જ કરવું, કેમ જે ધર્મ છે તે જ સર્વ પુરૂષાર્થનો આપનારો છે માટે કોઈક ફળના લોભે કરીને ધર્મનો ત્યાગ ન કરવો.
Lipi: Ane ghaṇuk chē phaḷ jēnē visē ēvuṁ paṇ jē karma, tē jō dharmē rahita hōy tō tēnuṁ ācaraṇa na j karavu, kēm jē dharma chē tē j sarva puruṣārthanō āpanārō chē māṭē kō’ika phaḷanā lōbhē karīnē dharma nō tyāga na karavō.
English: And one shall never perform any activities that are devoid of dharma, even if they are beneficial in some way. Dharma alone is capable of fulfilling the four Purusharths (dharma, arth, kaam and moksh). Therefore, one shall not give up dharma in the hope of some benefits.

Gujarati: અને પૂર્વે થયા જે મોટા પુરુષ તેમણે પણ જો ક્યારેય અધર્માચરણ કર્યુ હોય તો તેનું ગ્રહણ ન કરવું અને તેમણે જે ધર્માચરણ કર્યુ હોય તો તેનું ગ્રહણ કરવું.
Lipi: Ane pūrvē thayā jē mōṭā puruṣa tēmaṇē paṇ jō kyārē adharmācaraṇ karyu hōy tō tēnuṁ grahaṇ n karavu ane tēmaṇē jē dharmaācaraṇ karyu hōy tō tēnuṁ grahaṇ karavu.
English: And one shall never adopt any of the adharmic (unethical) acts of the great people of the past but shall follow their acts that conform with dharma.

Gujarati: અને કોઈની પણ જે ગુહ્યવાર્તા તે તો કોઈ ઠેકાણે પણ પ્રકાશ કરવી જ નહિ અને જે જીવનું જેવી રીતે સન્માનકરવું ઘટતું હોય, તેનું તેવી રીતે જ સન્માન કરવું પણ સમદ્રષ્ટિએ કરીને એ મર્યાદાનું ઉલ્લંઘન કરવું નહિ.
Lipi: Ane kō’īnī paṇ jē guhyavārtā tē tō kō’ī ṭhēkāṇē paṇ prakāśa karavī j nahi ane jē jīvanuṁ jēvī rītē sanmānkaravuṁ ghaṭatu hōy, tēnuṁ tēvī rītē j sanmāna karavuṁ pan samadṛṣṭiyē karīnē ē maryādānuṁ ullanghana karavuṁ nahi.
English: And one shall never disclose the secrets of others to anyone else and shall give due respect to deserving persons. This rule shall not be violated in the name of equality.

Gujarati: અને અમારા જે સર્વે સત્સંગી તેમણે ચાતુર્માસને વિષે વિશેષ નિયમ ધારવો, અને જે મનુષ્ય અસમર્થ હોય તેમણે તો એક શ્રાવણ માસને વિષે વિશેષ નિયમ ધારવો.
Lipi: Ane amārā jē sarvē satsaṅgī tēmaṇē cāturmāsanē visē viśēṣa niyama dhāravō, anē jē manuṣya asamartha hōy tēmaṇē tō ēka śrāvaṇa māsanē visē viśēṣa niyama dhāravō.
English: And all my aashrits shall perform special additional niyams (religious duties) as worship during Chaturmaas (4 months of the monsoon). Those who are incapable shall at least perform them during the month of Shraavan.

Gujarati: અને તે વિશેષ નિયમ તે કિયા તો ભગવાનની કથાનું શ્રવણ કરવું તથા કથા વાંચવી તથા ભગવાનના ગુણનું કીર્તન કરવું તથા પંચામૃત સ્નાને કરીને ભગવાનની મહાપૂજા કરવી તથા ભગવાનના મંત્રનો જપ કરવો તથા સ્તોત્રનો પાઠ કરવો તથા ભગવાનને પ્રદક્ષિણાઓ કરવી.
Lipi: Ane tē visēṣa niyama tē kiyā tō bhagavānani kathānuṁ śravaṇa karvuṁ tathā kathā vāṅcavī tathā bhagavānana guṇanuṁ kīrtana karvuṁ tathā pañcāmr̥ta snānē karīnē bhagavānani mahāpūjā karvi tathā bhagavānana mantra no japa karvo tathā stōtranō pāṭh karvo tathā bhagavānē pradakṣiṇā’ō karvi.
English: And special niyam are: listening to shastras, reading shastras, reciting kirtans in praise of Bhagwan’s divine qualities, performing mahapuja of the Bhagwan’s idols, chanting Bhagwan’s mantra, reciting Bhagwan’s stotras, performing pradikshana,

Gujarati: તથા ભગવાનને સાષ્ટાંગ નમસ્કાર કરવા-એ જે આઠ પ્રકારના નિયમ તે અમે ઉત્તમ માન્યા છે. તે માટે એ નિયમમાંથી કોઈ એક નિયમ જે તે ચોમાસાને વિષે વિશેષપણે ભક્તિએ કરીને ધારવો.
Lipi: Tathā bhagavānē sāṣṭāṅga namaskāra karvā-e jē āṭha prakārānā niyama tē amē uttam mānyā chhē. Tē māṭē ē niyamamāṁthī kō’ī ēka niyama jē tē chaturmaas visē viśēṣapaṇē bhaktiē karīnē dhāravō.
English: And doing dandvat in front of Bhagwan’s image. These 8 types of niyams are considered highly valued. Therefore, all my aashrits shall observe any one of these devoutly during Chaturmaas as a special additional niyam.

Gujarati: અને સર્વ જે એકાદશીઓ, તેમનું વ્રત જે તે આદરથકી કરવું તથા શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનના જે જન્માષ્ટમી આદિક જન્મદિવસ તેમનું વ્રત જે તે આદરથકી કરવું તથા શિવરાત્રીનું વ્રત જે તે આદરથકી કરવું અને તે વ્રતના દિવસને વિષે મોટા ઉત્સવ કરવા.
Lipi: Ane sarva jē ēkādaśī’ō, tēmanuṁ vrat jē tē ādarthakī karvuṁ tathā śrīkṛṣhṇa bhagavānana jē janmāṣṭamī ādi janmadivas tēmanuṁ vrat jē tē ādarthakī karvuṁ tathā śivarātrīnuṁ vrat jē tē ādarthakī karvuṁ ane tē vratanā divasnē viṣē mōṭā utsava karva.
English: And everyone should do upvas (fast) on every Ekadashi, Shree Krishna Bhagwan’s Janmashtmi, and other birth anniversaries, as well as Shivratri, and celebrate them with festivals.

80.

Gujarati: અને જે દિવસે વ્રતનો ઉપવાસ કર્યો હોય તે દિવસે અતિશય યત્ને કરીને દિવસની નિદ્રાનો ત્યાગ કરવો, કેમ જે જેમ મૈથુને કરીને મનુષ્યના ઉપવાસનો નાશ થાય છે તેમ જ દિવસની નિદ્રાએ કરીને મનુષ્યના ઉપવાસનો નાશ થઈ જાય છે.
Lipi: Ane jē divasē vratanō upavāsa karyō hōy tē divasē atishaya yatnē karīnē divasanī nidrānō tyāga karvō, kēma jē jēma mait’hunē karīnē manuṣyanā upavāsanō nāśa thāy chē tēma jē divasanī nidrāē karīnē manuṣyanā upavāsanō nāśa thai jāy chē.
English: And on days of upvas, one shall make every effort to avoid sleeping during the daytime. Sleeping during daytime as well as sexual indulgence nullifies the upvas.

81.

Gujarati: અને સર્વ વૈષ્ણવના રાજા એવા જે શ્રી વલ્લભાચાર્ય તેના પુત્ર જે શ્રી વિઠ્ઠલનાથજી તે જેતે જે વ્રત અને ઉત્સવના નિર્ણયને કરતા હવા.
Lipi: Ane sarva vaiṣṇavanā rājā ēvā jē śrī vallabhācārya tēnā putra jē śrī vitthalanāthajī tē jētē jē vrat anē utsavānā nirṇaynē karatā havā.
English: And everyone shall perform vrats (self-discipline) and utsavs (festivals), as per Shree Vitthalnathji’s decision, the son of Shri Vallabhacharya, who was a king among Vaishnavas.

Gujarati: અને તે વિઠ્ઠલનાથજીએ કર્યો જે નિર્ણય તેને જ અનુસરીને સર્વે વ્રત ને ઉત્સવ કરવા, અને તે વિઠ્ઠલનાથજીએ કહી જે શ્રીકૃષ્ણની સેવા રીતિ તેનું જ ગ્રહણ કરવું.
Lipi: Ane tē vitthalanāthajīē karyō jē nirṇay tēnē j anusarīnē sarvē vrat nē utsava karvā, ane tē vitthalanāthajīē kahī jē śrīkṛṣṇanī sēvā rīti tēnu j grahaṇ karvūṁ.
English: And my aashrits shall observe these vrats and utsavs the way Shree Vitthalnathji has explained, and they shall also adopt the mode of worship of Shree Krishna Bhagwan as explained by Shree Vitthalnathji.

Gujarati: અને સર્વે જે અમારા આશ્રિત, તેમણે દ્વારિકા આદિક જે તીર્થ તેમની યાત્રા જે તે પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે યથાવિધિએ કરીને કરવી અને વળી પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે દીનજનને વિષે દયાવાન થવું.
Lipi: Ane sarvē jē amārā āśrita, tēmaṇē dvārikā ādika jē tīrtha tēmanī yātrā jē tē potānā sāmarthya pramāṇē yathāvidhiē karīnē karvī ane vaḷī potānā sāmarthya pramāṇē dīnajananē visē dayāvāna thavūṁ.
English: And all my aashrits shall make a yatra (pilgrimage) with due rites to tirthdhams like Dwarika, according to their capabilities, and shall always be charitable and compassionate towards the poor.

84.

Gujarati: અને અમારા જે આશ્રિત તેમણે વિષ્ણુ, શિવ, ગણપતિ, પાર્વતી અને સૂર્ય એ પાંચ દેવ પૂજ્ય પણે કરીને માનવા.
Lipi: Ane amārā jē āśrita tēmaṇē viṣṇu, śiva, gaṇapati, pārvatī ane sūrya ē pāñca dēva pūjy panē karīnē mānavā.
English: And all my aashrits should respect and worship reverently the five devs: Vishnuji, Shivji, Ganapatiji, Parvati Mata, and Surya Dev.

85.

Gujarati: અને જો ક્યારેક ભૂતપ્રેતાદિકનો ઉપદ્રવ થાય ત્યારે તો નારાયણ કવચનો જપ કરવો અથવા હનુમાનજીના મંત્રનો જપ કરવો, પણ એ વિના બીજા કોઈ ક્ષુદ્ર દેવના સ્તોત્ર અને મંત્રનો જપ ન કરવો.
Lipi: Ane jō kẏārēk bhūtaprētādiknō upadrava thāy tyare tō nārāyaṇa kavacanō japa karvō athavā hanumānjīnā mantra nō japa karvō, paṇ ē vinā bījā kō’ī kṣudra dēvana stōtra anē mantra nō japa n karvō.
English: And in any event of distress caused by evil spirits, all my aashrits shall chant the Narayan Kavach or Hanumaan Stotram, but shall never chant the Mantras of any other devtas.

86.

Gujarati: અને સૂર્યનું ને ચંદ્રમાનું ગ્રહણ થયે સતે અમારા જે સર્વે સત્સંગી તેમણે બીજી સર્વે ક્રિયાનો તત્કાળ ત્યાગ કરીને પવિત્ર થઈને શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનના મંત્રનો જપ કરવો.
Lipi: Ane sūryanuṁ nē candramānuṁ grahaṇ thayē satē amārā jē sarvē satsaṅgī tēmaṇē bījī sarvē kriyānō tatkāla tyāga karīnē pavitra thaīnē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānana mantra nō japa karvō.
English: And whenever a solar or lunar eclipse takes place, all my aashrits shall immediately suspend all work and after purifying themselves shall chant Shree Krishna Bhagwan’s mantra.

87.

Gujarati: અને તે ગ્રહણ મુકાઈ રહ્યા પછી વસ્ત્ર સહિત સ્નાન કરીને જે અમારા ગૃહસ્થ સત્સંગી હોય, તેમણે પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે દાન કરવું અને જે ત્યાગી હોય તેમણે ભગવાનની પૂજા કરવી.
Lipi: Ane tē grahaṇ mukā’ī rahyā pachhī vastra sahita snāna karīnē jē amārā gṛhastha satsaṅgī hoy, tēmaṇē potānā sāmarthya pramāṇē dāna karvūṁ ane jē tyāgī hoy, tēmaṇē bhagavānani pūjā karvī.
English: And when the eclipse is over, all my aashrits shall take a bath with clothes worn at that time. Gruhast satsangis shall give alms to the poor according to their means and tyagis (ascetics) shall do puja and worship Bhagwan.

Gujarati: અને અમારા સત્સંગી એવા જે ચારે વર્ણના મનુષ્ય, તેમણે જન્મનું સૂતક તથા મરણનું સૂતક તે પોતપોતાના સંબંધને અનુસારે કરીને યથાશાસ્ત્ર પાળવું.
Lipi: Ane amārā satsaṅgī ēvā jē chārē varṇanā manuṣya, tēmaṇē janmanuṁ sūtaka tathā maraṇanuṁ sūtaka tē potapōtānā sambaṁdhanē anusārē karīnē yathāśāstra pāḷavuṁ.
English: And my aashrits of the four castes shall observe Sutak (a period following a birth or death in the family, during which all religious rites are prohibited), according to the closeness of the relationship, as prescribed by the shastras.

Gujarati: અને જે બ્રાહ્મણ વર્ણ હોય, તેમણે શમ, દમ, ક્ષમા અને સંતોષ એ આદિક જે ગુણ તેમણે યુક્ત થવું અને જે ક્ષત્રિય વર્ણ હોય તેમણે શૂરવીરપણું અને ધીરજ એ આદિક જે ગુણ તેમણે યુક્ત થવું.
Lipi: Ane jē brāhmaṇa varṇa hoy, tēmaṇē śama, dama, kṣamā ane santośh ē ādika jē guṇ tēmaṇē yukta thavuṁ ane jē kṣatriya varṇa hoy, tēmaṇē śūravīrapaṇuṁ ane dhīraja ē ādika jē guṇ tēmaṇē yukta thavuṁ.
English: And Brahmins shall have virtues such as tranquillity, self-restraint, forgiveness, contentment etc, and my Kshatriya (warrior caste) satsangis shall adorn bravery, patience and similar virtues.

Gujarati: અને વૈશ્ય વર્ણ હોય તેમણે કૃષિકર્મ તથા વણજ વ્યાપાર તથા વ્યાજવટો એ આદિક જે વૃત્તિઓ તેમણે કરીને વર્તવું અને જે શૂદ્ર વર્ણ હોય, તેમણે બ્રાહ્મણાદિક ત્રણ વર્ણની સેવા કરવી એ આદિક જે વૃત્તિઓ તેમણે કરીને વર્તવું.
Lipi: Ane vaiśya varṇa hoy, tēmaṇē kṛṣhikarma tathā vaṇaja vyāpāra tathā vyājavaṭō ē ādika jē vṛttiyō tēmaṇē karīnē vartavuṁ ane jē śūdra varṇa hoy, tēmaṇē brāhmaṇādika traṇa varṇanī sēvā karvī ē ādika jē vṛttiyō tēmaṇē karīnē vartavuṁ.
English: And the Vaishya satsangis shall practice farming, trading, money lending etc, and the Shudra satsangis shall serve the above mentioned three castes.

Gujarati: અને જે દ્વિજ હોય, તેમણે ગર્ભાધાનાદિક સંસ્કાર તથા આહ્નિક તથા શ્રાધ્ધ એ ત્રણ જે તે પોતાના ગૃહ્યસૂત્રને અનુસારે કરીને, જેવો જેનો અવસર હોય અને જેવી ધનસંપત્તિ હોય તે પ્રમાણે કરવા.
Lipi: Ane jē dvija hoy, tēmaṇē garbhādhānādika sanskāra tathā āhnika tathā śrāddha ē traṇa jē tē potānā gṛhyasūtranē anusārē karīnē, jēvō jēno avasara hoy ane jēvī dhana samipatō hoy, tē pramāṇē karvā.
English: And the Dwijas (those who are eligible for Yagnopavit) shall perform all 16 sanskaars as per shastras and perform daily rituals and Shraaddh at the appropriate time as per one’s own familial traditions according to their capability.

Gujarati: અને ક્યારેક જાણે અથવા અજાણે જો નાનું મોટું પાપ થઈ જાય તો પોતાની શક્તિ પ્રમાણે તે પાપનું પ્રાયશ્ચિત કરવું
Lipi: Ane kyārēka jāṇē athavā ajāṇē jō nānuṁ mōṭuṁ pāpa thai jāy tō potānī śakti pramāṇē tē pāpanuṁ prāyacchita karvūṁ
English: And If anyone has committed any paap (sins), big or small, knowingly or unknowingly, they shall correct their paaps to the best of their ability

Lipi: Ane dharmaśāstranā madhyamāṁ rahī ēvī jē yājñavalkya ṛṣinī smṛti ē jē āṭha satsāstrō tē amanē īṣṭa che.
English: And the Smruti, a part of the Dharmashastras, by Yagnavalkya Rishi. These eight Shastras are dearest to me.

Gujarati: અને પોતાના હિતને ઈચ્છતા એવા જે અમારા સર્વે શિષ્ય તેમણે એ આઠ સત્શાસ્ત્ર જે તે સાંભળવા, અને અમારા આશ્રિત જે દ્વિજ તેમણે એ સત્શાસ્ત્ર જે તે ભણવા તથા ભણાવવા તથા એમની કથા કરવી.
Lipi: Ane potānā hitnē icchhatā evā je amārā sarvē śiṣya tēmaṇē ē āṭh satsāstra je tē sāmbhḷavā, anē amārā āśrita jē dvija tēmaṇē ē satsāstra je tē bhaṇavā tathā bhaṇāvavā anē ēmanī kathā karvī.
English: And all my disciples desirous of salvation shall listen to these eight shastras and my Dvija aashrits shall study, teach, and preach them to the others.

Gujarati: અને તે આઠ સત્શાસ્ત્રમાંથી આચાર, વ્યવહાર અને પ્રાયશ્ચિત એ ત્રણનો જે નિર્ણય કરવો તેને વિષે તો મિતાક્ષરા ટીકાએ યુક્ત એવી જે યાજ્ઞવલ્ક્ય ઋષિની સ્મૃતિ, તેનું ગ્રહણ કરવું.
Lipi: Anē tē āṭh satsāstramānthī ācāra, vyavahāra anē prāyaśchitta ē trāṇō jē niraṇaya karvō tēnē viṣē tō mitākṣarā ṭīkāē yukta evī je yājñavalky ṛṣiṇī smṛti, tēnu grahaṇ karvū.
English: And amongst these eight shastras mentioned, My aashrits shall consider and accept the Mitakshara Tika (commentary) of Yagnavalkya Rishi’s Smruti as the guiding authority to take decisions on matters of conduct, daily routines, rites and rituals, secular business affairs, and code of expiation.

Gujarati: અને વળી એ આઠ સત્શાસ્ત્રને વિષે જે શ્રીમદ્ ભાગવત પુરાણ તેના દશમ ને પંચમ નામે જે બે સ્કંધ, તે જે તે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનનું માહાત્મ્ય જાણવાને અર્થે સર્વથી અધિકપણે જાણવા.
Lipi: Anē vaḷī ē āṭh satsāstranē viṣē jē śrīmad bhāgavata purāṇa tēnā daśama nē pañcama nāmē jē bē skandha, tē jē tē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavān nūṁ māhātmya jāṇavānē arthe sarvathi adhikpaṇē jāṇavā.
English: And amongst these 8 shastras, the fifth and tenth Skandhs (sections) of the Shreemad Bhagwat Puran shall be regarded as the best for a clear understanding of the greatness and glory of Shree Krishna Bhagwan.

Gujarati: અને દશમસ્કંધ તથા પંચમસ્કંધ તથા યાજ્ઞવલ્ક્યની સ્મૃતિ એ જે ત્રણ તે અનુક્રમે કરીને અમારું ભક્તિશાસ્ત્ર, યોગશાસ્ત્ર અને ધર્મશાસ્ત્ર છે. કહેતા દશમસ્કંધ તે ભક્તિશાસ્ત્ર છે અને પંચમસ્કંધ તે યોગશાસ્ત્ર છે ; અને યાજ્ઞવલ્ક્યની સ્મૃતિ તે ધર્મશાસ્ત્ર છે એમ જાણવું.
Lipi: Anē daśama-skandha tathā pañcama-skandha tathā yājñavalkyanī smṛti ē jē traṇ tē anukramē karīnē amāruṁ bhaktiśāstra, yōgśāstra anē dharmśāstra chē. Kahtā daśama-skandha tē bhaktiśāstra chē anē pañcama-skandha tē yōgśāstra chē; anē yājñavalkyanī smṛti tē dharmśāstra chē ēm jāṇavuṁ.
English: And the tenth Skandh shall be esteemed as my Bhakti Shastra, the fifth Skandh as Yoga Shastra, and Yagnavalkya Smruti as Dharma Shastra.

Gujarati: અને શ્રી રામાનુજાચાર્યે કર્યુ એવું જે વ્યાસસૂત્રનું શ્રીભાષ્ય તથા શ્રીભગવદગીતાનું ભાષ્ય એ જે બે તે અમારું અધ્યાત્મશાસ્ત્ર છે એમ જાણવું.
Lipi: Anē śrī rāmānujācāryē karyu ēvu je vyāsasūtra nūṁ śrībhāṣya tathā śrībhagavadgītānūṁ bhāṣya ē jē bē tē amāruṁ adhyātmaśāstra chē ēm jāṇavuṁ.
English: And all my aashrits shall acknowledge the Shri Bhashya (commentaries on Vyaas-Sutra) and Shree Bhagwat Gita Bhashya by Shree Ramanujacharya, as my vedantic philosophy.

Gujarati: અને એ સર્વે સત્શાસ્ત્રને વિષે જે વચન તે જે તે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનનું સ્વરૂપ તથા ધર્મ તથા ભક્તિ તથા વૈરાગ્ય એ ચારના અતિ ઉત્કર્ષપણાને કહેતા હોય.
Lipi: Anē ē sarvē satsāstranē viṣē jē vacana tē jē tē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavān nūṁ svarūpa tathā dharma tathā bhakti tathā vairāgya ē cāranā ati utkarṣapānānē kahētā hōya.
English: And the writings in these shastras which speak of the greatness of divinity of the form of Shree Krishna Bhagwan, and of Dharma, Bhakti and Vairagya;

Gujarati: તે વચન જે તે બીજા વચન કરતાં પ્રધાનપણે માનવાં અને શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનની ભક્તિ તે જે તે ધર્મે સહિત જ કરવી; એવી રીતે તે સર્વે સત્શાસ્ત્રનું રહસ્ય છે.
Lipi: Tē vacana jē tē bījā vacana karatāṁ pradhanapānē mānavā anē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavān nī bhakti tē jē tē dharmē sahit j karvī; ēvī rītē tē sarvē satsāstranuṁ rahasya chē.
English: These writings shall be considered of greater value than other writings and the devotion of Shree Krishna Bhagwan shall be done inseparable from Dharma.

Gujarati: અને શ્રુતિ સ્મૃતિ તેમણે પ્રતિપાદન કર્યો એવો જે સદાચાર, તે ધર્મ જાણવો; અને શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનને વિષે માહાત્મ્યજ્ઞાને સહિત જે ઘણો સ્નેહ તે ભક્તિ જાણવી.
Lipi: Anē śruti smṛti tēmanē pratipādana karyō ēvo je sadācāra, tē dharma jāṇavō; anē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavān nē viṣē māhātmyajñānē sahita jē ghaṇō sneha tē bhakti jāṇavī.
English: And Dharma is the right conduct as authenticated by Shruti (heard) and Smruti (remembered); and Bhakti is profound love for Bhagwan coupled with knowledge of the majesty and magnificence of Shree Krishna Bhagwan.

Gujarati: અને શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાન વિના અન્ય પદાર્થમાં પ્રીતિ નહિ તે વૈરાગ્ય જાણવો. અને જીવ, માયા અને ઈશ્વર તેમના સ્વરૂપને જે રૂડી રીતે જાણવું તેને જ્ઞાન કહીએ.
Lipi: Anē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavān vinā anya padārthamāṁ prīti nahi tē vairāgya jāṇavō. Anē jīva, māyā anē īśvara tēmanā svārūpanē jē rūḍī rītē jāṇavūṁ tēnā gñān kahī’ē.
English: And vairagya is non-attachment to everything except Shree Krishna Bhagwan; and gnan (knowledge) is comprehensive understanding of jeev (soul), maya (illusion) and ishwar (the Dev you worship).

Gujarati: અને જે જીવ છે તે હૃદયને વિષે રહ્યો છે ને અણુ સરખો સૂક્ષ્મ છે ને ચૈતન્યરૂપ છે ને જાણનારો છે, અને પોતાની જ્ઞાનશક્તિએ કરીને નખથી શિખાપર્યંત સમગ્ર પોતાના દેહ પ્રત્યે વ્યાપીને રહ્યો છે, અને અછેદ્ય, અભેદ્ય, અજર, અમર, ઈત્યાદિક છે લક્ષણ જેનાં એવો જીવ છે એમ જાણવો.
Lipi: Anē jē jīva chē tē hṛdayanē viṣē rahyō chē nē anu sarakhō sūkṣma chē nē caitanyarūpa chē nē jāṇanārō chē, anē potānī gñānaśaktiē karīnē nakhathī śikhāparyanta samagra potānā dēha pratẽ vyāpīnē rahyō chē, anē achēd, abhēd, ane amara, ītyādik chē lakṣaṇa jēnā ēvō jīva chē ēm jāṇavūṁ.
English: And the jeev dwells in the heart and is as small as an atom. It is conscious and knowledgeable. By the virtue of subjectivity, it is present in the whole body. It is impenetrable, indivisible, indestructible and eternal.

Gujarati: અને જે માયા છે, તે ત્રિગુણાત્મિકા છે ને અંધકાર રૂપ છે ને શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનની શક્તિ છે, અને આ જીવને દેહ તથા દેહના જે સંબંધી તેમને વિષે અહંમમત્વની કરાવનારી છે, એમ માયાને જાણવી.
Lipi: Anē jē māyā chē, tē triguṇātmikā chē nē andhakāra rūpa chē nē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavān nī śakti chē, anē ā jīva nē dēha tathā dēhanā jē sambandhī tēmanē viṣē ahaṁmamatvanī karāvanārī chē, ēm māyānē jāṇavī.
English: And maya is trigunatmik (comprised of three qualities – Satva, Rajas and Tamas). It is full of darkness and is the power of Shree Krishna Bhagwan. It is the source of creating ego and attachment towards the body and relations thereof.

Gujarati: અને જે ઈશ્વર છે, તે જે તે જેમ હૃદયને વિષે જીવ રહ્યો છે, તેમ તે જીવને વિષે અંતર્યામીપણે કરીને રહ્યા છે. ને સ્વતંત્ર છે ને સર્વ જીવને કર્મફળના આપનારા છે, એમ ઈશ્વરને જાણવા.
Lipi: Anē jē īśvara chē, tē jē tē jēm hṛdayanē visē jīva rahyō chē, tēma tē jīvanē visē antaryāmīpanē karīnē rahyā chē. Nē svatantra chē nē sarva jīvanē karmafalnā āpanārā chē, em īśvaranē jāṇavā.
English: And just as jeev dwells in the heart, so does ishwar dwell in the heart of jeev as the controlling power and is invisible, independent. He is supreme and gives rewards to all according to the jeev’s karma.

Gujarati: અને તે ઈશ્વર તે ક્યા તો પરબ્રહ્મ પુરુષોત્તમ એવા જે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાન તે ઈશ્વર છે, અને તે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ જે તે આપણા ઈષ્ટદેવ છે ને ઉપાસના કરવા યોગ્ય છે અને સર્વ અવતારના કારણ છે.
Lipi: Anē tē īśvara tē kyā tō parabrahma puruṣōttama evā jē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavān tē īśvara chē, anē tē śrīkṛṣṇa jē tē āpaṇā īṣṭadēva chē nē upāsanā karvā yōgya chē anē sarva avatāranā kāraṇa chē.
English: And that Ishwar is Shree Krishna Bhagwan, who is Parabrahma Purushottam and our most cherished devta. He is worthy of devotion by us all and he is the source of all avatars (incarnations).

Gujarati: અને સમર્થ એવા જે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ તે જે તે રાધિકાજીએ યુક્ત હોય ત્યારે ‘રાધાકૃષ્ણ’ એવે નામે જાણવા, અને રૂક્મિણીરૂપ જે લક્ષ્મી, તેમણે યુક્ત હોય ત્યારે ‘લક્ષ્મીનારાયણ’ એવે નામે જાણવા.
Lipi: Anē samartha evā jē śrīkṛṣṇa tē jē tē rādhikājīē yukta hōy tyārē ‘rādhākṛṣṇa’ evā nāmē jāṇavā, anē rūkmiṇīrūpa jē lakṣmī, tēmaṇē yukta hōy tyārē ‘lakṣmīnārāyaṇa’ evā nāmē jāṇavā.
English: And when Shree Krishna Bhagwan is by the side of Radhikaji, he shall be known as Shree Radhakrishna Dev. When he is beside Laxmiji in the form of Rukmaniji, he shall be known as Shree Laxminarayan Dev;

Gujarati: અને એ શ્રીકૃષ્ણ જે તે અર્જુને યુક્ત હોય ત્યારે નરનારાયણ એવે નામે જાણવા અને વળી તે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ જે તે બળભદ્રાદિકને યોગે કરીને તે તે નામે કહેવાય છે એમ જાણવું.
Lipi: Anē ē śrīkṛṣṇa jē tē arjunē yukta hōy tārē naranārāyaṇa evā nāmē jāṇavā anē vaḷī tē śrīkṛṣṇa jē tē balabhādradhik ane yukta hōy tārē tē tē nāmē kahēvāy chē em jāṇavuṁ.
English: And when he is by the side of Arjunji, he shall be known as Narnarayan Dev, and in the same manner, when Balbhadra or other devtas are by his side, he shall be known by their own name.

Gujarati: અને એ જે રાધાદિક ભક્ત તે જે તે ક્યારેક તો તે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનને પડખે હોય છે અને ક્યારેક તો અતિ સ્નેહે કરીને શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનના અંગને વિષે રહે છે. ત્યારે તો તે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાન એકલા જ હોય એમ જાણવા.
Lipi: Anē ē jē rādhādika bhakta tē jē tē kyaṛēk tō tē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānane paḍakhē hōy chē anē kyaṛēk tō ati snehē karīnē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānane āngaṇē visē rahyā chē. Tārē tō tē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavān ēkālā j hōy em jāṇavuṁ.
English: And at times, bhakts such as Radhikaji and others are alongside Shree Krishna Bhagwan but at other times, they, with extreme devotion, dwell within Shree Krishna Bhagwan and at such times shall be considered as by himself.

Gujarati: એ હેતુ માટે એ શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનનાં જે સ્વરૂપ તેમને વિષે સર્વે પ્રકારે કરીને ભેદ ન જાણવો અને ચતુર્ભુજપણું, અષ્ટભુજપણું સહસ્ત્રભુજપણું, ઈત્યાદિક જે ભેદ જણાય છે તે તો દ્વિભુજ એવા જે તે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ તેમની ઈચ્છાએ કરીને છે એમ જાણવું.
Lipi: Ē hetu māṭē ē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānnā jē svarūpa tēmanē visē sarvē prakārē karīnē bhēda na jāṇavō anē caturbhuja, aṣṭabhuja, sahasrabhuja, ityādika jē bhēda jaṇāy chē tē tō dvibhuja evā jē tē śrīkṛṣṇa tēmanī icchāē karīnē chē em jāṇavuṁ.
English: Therefore one shall not discriminate between the different avatars of Shree Krishna Bhagwan, as the four armed, eight armed or thousand armed avatars of the two armed Shree Krishna Bhagwan are avatars by his own free will.

Gujarati: અને એવા જે તે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાન તેની જે ભક્તિ, તે જે તે – પૃથ્વીને વિષે સર્વ મનુષ્ય, તેમણે કરવી અને તે ભક્તિ થકી બીજું કલ્યાણકારી સાધન કાંઈ નથી એમ જાણવું.
Lipi: Anē ēvā jē tē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānnī jē bhakti, tē jē tē – pṛthvīnē visē sarva manuṣya, tēmaṇē karvī anē tē bhakti thakī bījuṁ kalyāṇakārī sādhana kāī nathi em jāṇavuṁ.
English: And therefore everyone shall do bhakti of Shree Krishna Bhagwan as there isn’t a better path to kalyaan (salvation) other than the bhakti of Shree Krishna Bhagwan.

Gujarati: અને વિદ્યાદિક ગુણવાળા જે પુરુષ, તેમના ગુણવાનપણાનું એ જ પરમ ફળ જાણવું, કયું તો જે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનને વિષે ભક્તિ કરવી ને સત્સંગ કરવો; અને એમ ભક્તિ ને સત્સંગ એ બે વિના તો વિદ્વાન હોય તે પણ અધોગતિને પામે છે.
Lipi: Anē vidyādika guṇavālā jē puruṣa, tēmanā guṇavānapaṇānuṁ ē j parama phala jāṇavuṁ, kayuṁ tō jē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānnē vise bhakti karvī ne satsaṅga karvō; anē ēmaṁ bhakti nē satsaṅga ē bē vinā tō vidvāna hōy tē paṇa adhogati nē pāmē chē.
English: And the supreme aim of having good virtues is to pursue the bhakti of Shree Krishna Bhagwan and to stay in satsang; and if this goal is not achieved, even a scholar will meet their downfall.

Gujarati: અને શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાન તથા શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનના જે અવતાર તે જે તે ધ્યાન કરવા યોગ્ય છે; તથા શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનની જે પ્રતિમા, તે પણ ધ્યાન કરવા યોગ્ય છે. માટે એમનું ધ્યાન કરવું. અને મનુષ્ય તથા દેવાદિક જે જીવ તે તો શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનના ભક્ત હોય અને બ્રહ્મવેત્તા હોય તો પણ ધ્યાન કરવા યોગ્ય નથી, માટે એમનું ધ્યાન ન કરવું.
Lipi: Anē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavān tathā śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānnā jē avatāra tē jē tē dhyāna karvā yōgya chē; anē śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānnī jē pratimā, tē pan̄ dhyāna karvā yōgya chē. Māṭē ēmanuṁ dhyāna karvūṁ. Anē manuṣya tathā devādika jē jīva tē tō śrīkṛṣṇa bhagavānnā bhakta hōy anē brahmavettā hōy tō pan̄ dhyāna karvā yōgya nathi, māṭē ēmanuṁ dhyāna n karvūṁ.
English: And Shree Krishna Bhagwan, his avatars, and his images are alone worthy of dhyan (meditation), but one shall never meditate upon a person, a deity, or jeev even though he may be a profound bhakta of Shree Krishna Bhagwan or a Brahmvetta (knowledgable person of religion).

Gujarati: અને સ્થૂળ, સૂક્ષ્મ અને કારણ – એ જે ત્રણ દેહ તે થકી વિલક્ષણ એવો જે પોતાનો જીવાત્મા, તેને બ્રહ્મરૂપની ભાવના કરીને પછી તે બ્રહ્મરૂપે કરીને શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનની ભક્તિ જે તે સર્વ કાળને વિષે કરવી.
Lipi: Ane sthool, sookshma, ane kaaran – e je tran deh te thaki vilakshan aevo je potano jivatma, tene brahmaroopni bhavna karine pachi te brahmaroope karine Shree Krishna Bhagwan ni bhakti je te sarv kaalne vishe karvee.
English: And one shall consider one’s jeev as distinct and above the three forms of body – sthool (visible), shukshma (invisible soul) and karan (root of any cause). Even though the jeev is in Brahm form, it shall always worship Shree Krishna Bhagwan.

Gujarati: અને શ્રીમદ્ ભાગવત પુરાણનો જે દશમસ્કંધ તે જે તે નિત્ય પ્રત્યે આદર થકી સાંભળવો અથવા વર્ષો -વર્ષ એકવાર સાંભળવો અને જે પંડિત હોય તેમણે નિત્ય પ્રત્યે વાંચવો અથવા વર્ષો-વર્ષ એકવાર વાંચવો.
Lipi: Ane Shreemad Bhagwat Puran no je dashamskand te je te nitya pratye aadar thaki sambhalvo athava varsho-varsh ekvaar sambhalvo ane je pandit hoy temne nitya pratye vaanchvo athava varsho-varsh ekvaar vaanchvo.
English: And my aashrits shall listen, with reverence, to the dashma (tenth) skanda of Shreemad Bhagwat Puran everyday or once a year. Pandits (scholars) shall read it daily or once a year.

Gujarati: અને એ જે દશમસ્કંધ તેનું પુરશ્ચરણ જે તે પુણ્ય સ્થાનકને વિષે પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે કરવું-કરાવવું અને વળી વિષ્ણુસહસ્ત્રનામ નામ આદિક જે સત્શાસ્ત્ર, તેનું પુરશ્ચરણ પણ પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે કરવું-કરાવવું. તે પુરશ્ચરણ કેવું છે તો પોતાના મનવાંછિત ફળને આપે એવું છે.
Lipi: Ane e je dashamskand tenu purashcharan je te punya sthānakne vishe potana saamarthy pramaane karvu-karaavvu ane vali Vishnu Sahastranam naam adik je satshastra, tenu purashcharan pan potana saamarthy pramaane karvu-karaavvu. Te purashcharan kevu che to potana manvaanchit phalne ape evu che.
English: And they shall arrange a parayaan (holy recitation) of the dashma skanda, Vishnusahastranaam and other shastras. It should be performed in a tirthsthan (holy place) according to their capabilities, as these parayaans help them to attain their desired goal.

Gujarati: અને કષ્ટની દેનારી એવી કોઈ દેવ સંબંધી આપદા આવી પડે તથા મનુષ્ય સંબંધી આપદા આવી પડે તથા રોગાદિક આપદા આવી પડે તેને વિષે જેમ પોતાની ને બીજાની રક્ષા થાય તેમ વર્તવું પણ બીજી રીતે ન વર્તવું.
Lipi: Ane kasht ni denaari evo koi dev sanbandhi aapad aavi pade tatha manushya sanbandhi aapad aavi pade tatha rogaadik aapad aavi pade tene vishe je potani ne bijani raksha thaay tem varthavu pan beji rithe n varthavu.
English: And in the event of a calamity, which has befallen naturally or through a person or an epidemic, one shall always act in such a way that one can save one’s own life and also that of others but shall never act carelessly.

Gujarati: અને આચાર, વ્યવહાર અને પ્રાયશ્ચિત્ત એ જે ત્રણ વાના તે જે તે દેશ, કાળ, અવસ્થા, દ્રવ્ય, જાતિ અને સામર્થ્ય એટલાને અનુસારે કરીને જાણવા.
Lipi: Ane aachar, vyavhaar ane prayashchitt e je tran vaana te je te desh, kaal, avastha, dravya, jaati ane saamarthy etalane anusaare karine jaanva.
English: And the desh (place), kaal (time), avastha (age), dravya (means), jaati (caste) and capability shall be taken into consideration when deciding upon matters of daily rites and rituals, secular business affairs

Gujarati: અને અમારો જે મત તે વિશિેષ્ટાદ્વૈત છે એમ જાણવું ; અને અમને પ્રિય એવું જે ધામ તે ગોલોક છે એમ જાણવું અને તે ધામને વિષે બ્રહ્મરૂપે કરીને જે શ્રીકૃષ્ણભગવાનની સેવા કરવી તે અમે મુક્તિ માની છે એમ જાણવું.
Lipi: Ane amaro je mat te vishishtadwait che em jaanvu; ane amne priya evo je dhaam te Golok che em jaanvu ane te dhaamne vishe Brahmaroope karine je Shree Krishna Bhagwan ni seva karvi te ame mukti maani che em jaanvu.
English: And my philosophy rests in the theory of Vishishtaadvaita; and Golok is my beloved dham and I believe mukti as being able to serve Shree Krishna Bhagwan as Brahmrup.

Gujarati: અને આ જે પૂર્વે સર્વે ધર્મ કહ્યા તે જે તે અમારા આશ્રિત જે ત્યાગી, ગૃહસ્થ, બાઈ-ભાઈ, સર્વે સત્સંગી તેમના સામાન્ય ધર્મ કહ્યા છે કહેતાં સર્વ સત્સંગી માત્રને સરખા પાળવાના છે અને હવે એ સર્વેના જે વિશેષ ધર્મ છે, તેમને પૃથક્ પૃથક્ પણે કરીને કહીએ છીએ.
Lipi: Ane aa je purve sarve dharma kehya te je te amara aashrit je te tyagi, grihasth, bai-bhai, sarve satsangi temna saamanya dharma kehya che kehta sarve satsangi maatrane sarakhaa paalvana che ane have e sarve na je vishe vishesha dharma che, tene pruthak pruthak panne kahiye che.
English: And the Dharmas described so far are general, which apply to all my followers: acharyas, tyagis, gruhasts (householders), male, and female, and shall be followed accordingly. I shall now describe their specific Dharmas.

Gujarati: હવે પ્રથમ ધર્મવંશી જે આચાર્ય અને તેમની પત્નીઓ તેમના જે વિશેષ ધર્મ તે કહીએ છીએ :- અમારા મોટાભાઈ અને નાનાભાઈ – તેના પુત્ર જે અયોધ્યાપ્રસાદ અને રઘુવીર, તેમણે પોતાના સમીપ સંબંધ વિનાની જે બીજી સ્ત્રીઓ તેમને મંત્ર ઉપદેશ ક્યારેય ન કરવો.
Lipi: Have pratham dharmavanshi je aacharya ane temni patnio te tene vishesha dharma te kaahiye che: – Amara motabhai ane nanabhai – temna putra je Ayodhyaprasaad ane Raghuvir, temne potana saame sanbandh vinaani je biji strioni temne mantra upadesh kyaare na karvo.
English: Now first, specific dharmas of Acharyas and their wives are being described. Ayodhyaprasad and Raghuvir, sons of my elder and younger brother respectively, shall never give guru mantra to females who are not closely related to them.

Gujarati: અને તે સ્ત્રીઓને ક્યારેય પણ અડવું નહિ અને તે સાથે બોલવું નહિ અને કોઈ જીવને વિષે ક્રૂરપણું ન કરવું અને કોઈની થાપણ ન રાખવી.
Lipi: Ane te strioni kyaare pan adavu na ane te saath bolvu na ane koi jivane vishe kruurpanu na karvu ane koini thaapan na rakhvi.
English: And they shall never touch or talk to females who are not closely related to them and they shall not be cruel to any living being nor accept any deposits from anyone.

125.

Gujarati: અને વ્યવહાર કાર્યને વિષે કેનું પણ જમાનગરૂં ન કરવું અને કોઈ આપત્કાળ આવી પડે તો ભિક્ષા માગીને પોતાનો નિર્વાહ કરીને તે આપત્કાળને ઉલ્લંઘવો. પણ કોઈનું કરજ તો ક્યારેય ન કરવું.
Lipi: Ane vyavhaar karyane vishe kenu pan jamaangarum na karvu ane koi aapatkaal aavi pade to bhiksha maagine potano nirvaah karine te aapatkaalne ullangho. Pan koinu karj to kyaare na karvu.
English: And they shall never stand as surety for others in social matters. In the event of hardship, they shall live on charity but never incur debts.

126.

Gujarati: અને પોતાના જે શિષ્ય, તેમણે ધર્મ નિમિત્તે પોતાને આપ્યું જે અન્ન તે વેચવું નહિ; અને તે અન્ન જૂનું થાય તો તે જૂનું કોઈકને દઈને નવું લેવું અને એવી રીતે જે જૂનાનું નવું કરવું તે વેચ્યું ન કહેવાય.
Lipi: Ane potānā je śiṣya, temṇe dharma nimitta pōtānē āpyu je anna te vēcavu nahi; ane te anna jūnu thāyu to te jūnu kō’īkane dēīnē navu lēvu ane ēvī rītē je jūnānu navu karvu te vēcyu na kahēvāyu.
English: And they shall never sell food grains offered to them by their aashrits. However, the old grains may be exchanged for new as such exchange is not considered as selling.

127.

Gujarati: અને ભાદરવા સુદિ ચતુર્થીને દિવસે ગણપતિની પૂજા કરવી તથા આસો વદિ ચતુર્દશીને દિવસે હનુમાનજીની પૂજા કરવી.
Lipi: Ane bhādarvā sudī chaturthīnē divasē gaṇapatinī pūjā karvī tathā āsō vadu chaturdaśīnē divasē hanumānjīnī pūjā karvī.
English: And they shall perform puja of Shree Ganapatiji on the fourth day of the first half of the month of Bhadarva and the puja of Shree Hanumanji on the fourteenth day of the second half of the month of Aaso.

Gujarati: અને અમારે આશ્રિત જે સર્વે સત્સંગી, તેમના ધર્મની રક્ષા કરવાને અર્થે એ સર્વેના ગુરુપણાને વિષે અમે સ્થાપન કર્યા એવા જે તે અયોધ્યાપ્રસાદ અને રઘુવીર, તેમણે મુમુક્ષુજનને દીક્ષા આપવી.
Lipi: Ane amārē āśrita je sarvē satsaṅgī, temnā dharmnī rakṣā karvānē arthē ē sarvēnā gurupaṇānē visē amē sthāpana karyā ēvā je tē ayōdhyāprasāda ane raghuvīra, temṇē mumukṣujanē dīkṣā āpavī.
English: And I have enthroned the two Acharyas, Ayodhyaprasad and Raghuvir as spiritual leaders in order to preserve the dharma of all my aashrits. They shall give diksha (initiate) to those male aashrits.

129.

Gujarati: અને પોતાના આશ્રિત જે સર્વે સત્સંગી તેમને અધિકાર પ્રમાણે પોતપોતાના ધર્મને વિષે રાખવા; અને સાધુને આદર થકી માનવા તથા સત્શાસ્ત્રનો અભ્યાસ આદર થકી કરવો.
Lipi: Ane potānā āśrita je sarvē satsaṅgī temnē adhikāra pramāṇē potapotānā dharmanē visē rākhvā; ane sādhu nē ādara thakī mānavā tathā satśāstranō abhyāsa ādara thakī karvō.
English: And they shall ensure that all aashrits conform to their respective dharmas; and they shall treat all sadhus with respect and study the shastras with reverence.

Gujarati: અને મોટા જે મંદિર તેમને વિષે અમે સ્થાપન કર્યા એવા જે શ્રી લક્ષ્મીનારાયણ આદિક શ્રીકૃષ્ણના સ્વરૂપ તેમની જે સેવા તે યથાવિધિએ કરીને કરવી
Lipi: Ane motā je maṇḍir temnē vishe amē sthāpan karyā evā je shrī Lakshmīnārāyaṇ ādik shrīkṛṣhṇnā svarūp temnī je sēvā te yathāvidhiē karīnē karāvī.
English: And they shall worship and offer seva to the murtis of Shree Laxminarayandev and other swarups (forms) of Shree Krishna Bhagwan installed by me in prominent mandirs.

131.

Gujarati: અને ભગવાનના મંદિર પ્રત્યે આવ્યો જે હરકોઇ અન્નાર્થી મનુષ્ય તેની પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે અન્નના દાને કરીને આદર થકી સંભાવના કરવી
Lipi: Ane bhagavān nā maṇḍira pratyē āvyō je harkō’i annārthī manuṣya tēnī potānā sāmarthya pramāṇē anna nē karyīnē adara thakī sambhāvanā karvī
English: And they shall give food to those people who come to the mandir in need of food and treat them with due hospitality according to their means.

132.

Gujarati: અને વિદ્યાર્થી ભણાવ્‍યાની શાળા કરાવીને પછી તેમા એક વિદ્વાન બ્રાહ્મણને રાખીને પૃથ્‍વીને વિષે સદ્વિદ્યાની પ્રવૃતિ કરાવવી, કેમ જે વિદ્યાદાને કરીને મોટું પુણ્ય થાય છે.
Lipi: Ane vidyārthī bhaṇāv’yanī śhādā karāvīnē pachhī tēmā ēka vidvāna brāhmaṇanē rākhīnē pṛthvīnē visaṇē sadavidyānī pravr̥tī karāvavī, kēma jē vidyādānē karīnē mōṭuṁ punya thāy chē.
English: And they shall establish educational institutions and appoint Brahmin scholars to impart gnan (knowledge) upon the Earth, as distribution of gnan is an act of punya.

133.

Gujarati: અને હવે એ અયોધ્‍યાપ્રસાદ અને રઘુવીર એ બન્‍નેની જે પત્‍નીઓ તેમણે પોતપોતાના પતિની આજ્ઞાએ કરીને સ્‍ત્રીઓને જ શ્રીકૃષ્‍ણનાં મંત્રનો ઉપદેશ કરવો પણ પુરુષોને ન કરવો
Lipi: Ane havē ē ayōdhyāprasāda ane raghuvīra ē bannēnī jē patnīō tēmanē potapotānā patnīnī agyna karīnē śrīkṛṣṇanāṁ mantra nō upadēś karvō paṇa puruṣōnē na karvō
English: And the wives of the Acharya, Ayodhyaprasad and Raghuvir, with the permission of their husbands, shall give Shree Krishna mantra to females only.

134.

Gujarati: અને વળી તે બે જણની પત્નિઓ તેમણે પોતાના સમીપ સંબંધ વિનાના જે પુરુષ તેમનો સ્પર્શ કયારેય ન કરવો અને તેમની સાથે બોલવું નહિ. ને તેમને પોતાનુ મુખ પણ ન દેખાડવું. એવી રીતે ધર્મવંશી આચાર્ય અને તેમની પત્નિઓ તેમના જે વિશેષ ધર્મ તે કહ્યા
Lipi: Ane vaḷī tē bē jaṇnī patnīō tēmanē potapotānā samīpa sambandha vinānā jē puruṣa tēmanō sparś kayārē na karvō ane tēmanī sātha bōlvu nahi. nē tēmanē potapotānū mukha pan na dēkhāḍavu. ēvī rītē dharmavaṅśī ācārya ane tēmanī jē viśēṣa dharma tē kahe
English: And they shall not touch, talk nor even show their faces to males, except those who are closely related to them. Thus the specific dharmas of Dharmakul are described.

Gujarati: હવે ગૃહસ્‍થાશ્રમીના જે વિશેષ ધર્મ તે કહીએ છીએ. અમારે આશ્રિત જે ગૃહસ્‍થાશ્રમી પુરુષ તેમણે પોતાના સમીપ સંબંધ વિનાની જે વિધવા સ્‍ત્રીઓ તેમનો સ્‍પર્શ ન કરવો.
Lipi: Have gruhasthāshramīnā je visheṣh dharma te kahīe chhie. Amārē āśrīta jē gruhasthāshramī puruṣ temnē potānā samīp sambandh vinānī je vidhavā gruhasthāshramī temnō sparsh na karavō.
English: Now specific Dharmas of gruhasts are being described. My aashrits who are male householders shall not touch widows except those who are closely related to them.

136.

Gujarati: અને તે ગૃહસ્‍થાશ્રમી પુરુષ તેમણે યુવા અવસ્‍થાને યુકત એવી જે પોતાની મા, બહેન અને દિકરી તે સંગાથે પણ આપત્‍કાળ વિના એકાંત સ્‍થળને વિષે ન કહેવું અને પોતાની સ્‍ત્રીનું દાન કોઇને ન કરવું
Lipi: Ane te grihasthashrami purush temane yuva avasthane yukat evi je potani ma, bahen ane dikari te sangathae pan aapatkaal vina ekant sthalane vishe na kahevum ane potani stri nu dan koi na karvum
English: And they shall never remain in a secluded place, especially with their mother, sister, or daughter who are of young age except in the case of an emergency. And they shall never give away their wives to anybody.

137.

Gujarati: અને જે સ્‍ત્રીને કોઇ પ્રકારના વ્‍યવહારે કરીને રાજાનો પ્રસંગ હોય તેવી સ્‍ત્રીનો જે પ્રસંગ તે કોઇ પ્રકારે પણ ન કરવો.
Lipi: Ane je stri ne koi prakar na vyavahare kari ne rajano prasang hoy tevi stri no je prasang te koi prakare pan na karvo.
English: And they shall not associate in any way with women who have contacts with rulers.

138.

Gujarati: અને તે ગૃહસ્‍થાશ્રમી તેમણે પોતાને ઘેર આવ્‍યો એવો જે અતિથિ તેને પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે અન્‍નાદિકે કરીને પુજવો અને વળી હોમાદિક જે દેવકર્મ અને શ્રાદ્વાદિક જે પિતૃકર્મ તે જેતે પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે યથાવિધિ જેમ ઘટે તેમ કરવું
Lipi: Ane te grihasthashrami temane potani gher aavyo evo je atithi tene potana samarthy pramane annaadike karine pujavo ane vali homaadike je devakarm ane shraddvadike je pitrukarm te jete potana samarthy pramane yathavidhi jem ghhate tem karvum
English: And whenever a guest comes to their house, they shall treat them with due hospitality according to their means and they shall perform sacrificial rites to deities and ancestral rites to pitru (ancestors), according to their ability.

139.

Gujarati: અને અમારા આશ્રિત જે ગૃહસ્‍થ તેમણે માતા-પિતા અને ગુરુ તથા રોગાતુર એવા જે કોઇ મનુષ્‍ય તેમની જે સેવા તે જીવનપર્યંત પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે કરવી.
Lipi: Ane amara ashrita je grihasth temane mata-pita ane guru tatha rogatur eva je koi manushy temni je seva te jivan paryant potana samarthy pramane karvi.
English: And my gruhast aashrits shall render life long services to their parents, guru and ailing persons according to their ability.

140.

Gujarati: અને વળી પોતાના વર્ણાશ્રમને ઘટિત એવો જે ઉદ્યમ તે પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે કરવો અને કૃષિવૃતિવાળા જે ગૃહસ્‍થ સત્‍સંગી તેમણે બળધિયાના વૃષણનો ઉચ્‍છેદ ન કરવો
Lipi: Ane vali potana varnashramne ghate evo je udyam te potana samarthy pramane karvo ane krishivritivela je grihasth satsangi temane baladina vrishanno uchhed na karvo
English: And they shall take jobs suitable to their varna and ashram, according to their abilities and farmers should never castrate their bulls.

141.

Gujarati: અને તે ગૃહસ્થ સત્સંગી તેમણે પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે સમયને અનુસરીને જેટલો પોતાના ઘરમાં વરો હોય તેટલા અન્ન દ્રવ્યનો સંગ્રહ જે તે કરવો અને જેના ઘરમાં પશુ હોય એવા જે ગૃહસ્થ તેમણે પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે ચાર્ય પૂળાનો સંગ્રહ કરવો
Lipi: Ane te grihasth satsangi temane potana samarthy pramane samayane anusarine jetlo potana gharma varo hoy teto anna dravyano sangrah je te karvo ane jena gharma pashu hoy eva je grihasth temane potana samarthy pramane chary pulaano sangrah karvo
English: And gruhast satsangis shall store food and accumulate wealth for their future requirements according to their circumstances and their abilities. Those who own cattle shall store sufficient fodder according to their means.

142.

Gujarati: અને ગાય, બળદ, ભેંસ, ઘોડા, આદિક જે પશુ તેમની તૃણ જળાદિકે કરીને પોતાવતે જો સંભાવના થાય તો તે પશુને રાખવા અને જો સંભાવના ન થાય તો ન રાખવા
Lipi: Ane gaay, balad, bheins, ghoda, aadik je pashu temni trin jalaadik karine potavate jo sambhavna thaay to te pashune raakhva ane jo sambhavna na thaay to na raakhva
English: And they shall keep cows and other cattle only if they are capable of taking care of them with food and water otherwise they shall not keep them.

143.

Gujarati: અને સાક્ષિએ સહિત લખત કર્યા વિના તો પોતાના પુત્ર અને મિત્રાદિક સાથે પણ પૃથ્‍વી ને ધનના લેણદેણ કરીને વ્‍યવહાર જેતે કયારેય ન કરવો.
Lipi: Ane saakshiye sahit likhat karyaa vina to potana putra ane mitraadik saathae pan prithvi ne dhanana lenadena karine vyavahar je te kyaare na karvo.
English: And they shall not undertake any sort of dealings pertaining to land or money even with their sons or friends without a written document duly witnessed.

144.

Gujarati: અને પોતાનું અથવા બીજાનું જે વિવાહ સંબંધી કાર્ય તેને વિષે આપવા યોગ્‍ય જે ધન તેનું સાક્ષિએ સહિત લખત કર્યા વિના કેવળ બોલી જ ન કરવી
Lipi: Ane potanu athava bejaanu je vivaah sambandhi karyaa tene vishe aapava yogya je dhan tenu saakshiye sahit likhat karyaa vina keval boli je na karvi
English: And one shall not rely merely on oral agreements with regards to amounts payable by either party in matrimonial affairs, but such agreements shall be in writing and duly witnessed.

Gujarati: અને પોતાની ઉપજનું જે દ્રવ્‍ય તેને અનુસારે નિરંતર ખરચ કરવો પણ તે ઉપરાંત ન કરવો અને જે ઉપજ કરતા વધારે ખરચ કરે છે તેને મોટું દુઃખ થાય છે એમ સર્વે ગૃહસ્‍થોએ મનમાં જાણવું

English: And they shall spend money according to their income. Those who spend more than their income put themselves into severe difficulty.

146.

Gujarati: અને પોતાના વ્‍યવહાર કાર્યને વિષે જેટલા ધનની ઉપજ હોય તથા જેટલો ખરચ હોય તે બેયને સંભારીને નિત્‍યપ્રત્‍યે રૂડા અક્ષરે કરીને પોતે તેનું નામુ લખવું
Lipi: Ane potānā vyavahār kāryanē vise jetalā dhananī upaja hoy tathā jetalo kharcha hoy tē bēyanē sambhārīnē nityapratyē rūḍā akṣarē karīnē pōtē tēnu nāmu lakhvūn
English: And they shall keep daily records of their income and expenditure relating to social affairs in their own legible handwriting.

147.

Gujarati: અને તે ગૃહસ્‍થાશ્રમી સત્‍સંગી તેમણે પોતાની જે વૃતિ અને ઉદ્યમ તે થકી પામ્‍યુ જે ધન ધાન્‍યાદિક તે થકી દશમો ભાગ કાઢીને શ્રીકૃષ્‍ણભગવાનને અર્પણ કરવો. અને જે વ્‍યવહારે દુર્બળ હોય તેમણે વિશમો ભાગ અર્પણ કરવો.
Lipi: Ane tē gṛhasthāśramī satsaṅgī tēmaṇē potānī jē vṛti anē udyama tē thakī pāmyu jē dhan dhan’yādik tē thakī daśamō bhāga kāḍhīnē śrīkṛṣhṇabhagavānē arpṇa karvō. Ane jē vyavahārē durbala hōy tēmaṇē vīśamō bhāga arpṇa karvō.
English: And gruhast satsangis shall take out one-tenth of their incomes and give it to Shree Krishna Bhagwan. And those who cannot afford it, they shall give one twentieth to Shree Krishna Bhagwan.

Gujarati: અને એકાદશી આદિક જે વ્રત તેમનું જે ઉદ્યાપન તે જેતે પોતાના સામર્થ્ય પ્રમાણે યથાશાસ્‍ત્ર કરવું તે ઉદ્યાપન કેવું છે તો મનવાંછિત ફળનું આપનારું છે
Lipi: Ane ēkādaśī ādika jē vrata tēmanu jētya potānā sāmarthya pramāṇē yathāśāstra karvūṁ tē udyāpan kēvuṁ chē tō manvāṅchiṭa phalnu āpanāruṁ chē
English: And the concluding ceremonies of Vratas such as Ekadashi and others, shall be performed and celebrated as prescribed in shastras and according to their means. The concluding ceremonies, so performed, fulfil one’s aspirations.

Gujarati: અને શ્રાવણ માસને વિષે મહાદેવનું પુજન જેતે બિલ્‍વપત્રાદિકે કરીને પ્રીતિપૂર્વક સર્વ પ્રકારે પોતે કરવું અથવા બીજા પાસે કરાવવું
Lipi: Ane shrāvaṇa māsanē vise mahādēvanu pūjana jēta bilvapatrādikē karīnē prītipurvaka sarva prakārē pōtē karvūṁ athavā bījā pāsē karāvavūṁ
English: And in the month of Shraavan, they should worship Mahadevji with bilva-patra or ask others to worship Mahadevji on their behalf.

Gujarati: અને પોતાના જે આચાર્ય તે થકી તથા શ્રીકૃષ્ણભગવાનના જે મંદિર, તેથકી કરજ ન કાઢવું; અને વળી તે પોતાના આચાર્ય થકી અને શ્રીકૃષ્ણનાં મંદિર થકી પોતાના વ્યવહારને અર્થે પાત્ર, ઘરેણાં અને વસ્ત્રાદિક જે વસ્તુ તે માગી લાવવા નહિ.
Lipi: Ane potānā jē ācārya tē thakī tathā śrīkṛṣhṇabhagavānana jē mandira, tēthakī karaja n kāḍhavūṁ; anē vaḷī tē potānā ācārya thakī anē śrīkṛṣhṇanāṁ mandira thakī potānā vyavahārana arṭhe pātra, ghareṇāṁ anē vastarādika jē vastu tē māgī lāvavā nahi.
English: And they shall never borrow money from their Acharyas or from the mandirs of Shree Krishna Bhagwan nor shall they borrow, for their social use utensils, ornaments, clothes and other articles owned by Acharyas or mandirs.

Gujarati: અને શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાન તથા પોતાના ગુરૂ તથા સાધુ એમના દર્શન કરવાને અર્થે ગયે સતે માર્ગને વિષે પારકું અન્ન ખાવું નહિ; તથા શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાન તથા પોતાના ગુરૂ તથા સાધુ તેમનાં જે સ્થાનક, તેમને વિષે પણ પારકું અન્ન ખાવું નહિ, કેમ જે; તે પારકું અન્ન તો પોતાના પુણ્યને હરી લે એવું છે, માટે પોતાની ગાંઠનું ખરચ ખાવું
Lipi: Ane śrīkṛṣhṇa bhagavān tathā potānā gurū tathā sādhu ēmanā darśana karavānē arthē gayē satē mārganē pārkhanu anna khāvu nahi; tathā śrīkṛṣhṇa bhagavān tathā potānā gurū tathā sādhu tēmanāṁ jē sthānaka, tēmanē vise paṇa pārkhu anna khāvu nahi, kem jē; tē pārkhu anna tō potānā puṇyanē harī lē ēvu chē, māṭē potānī gāṇṭhanu kharch khāvu
English: And when at mandir or visiting Gurus or Santo for darshan, satsangis shall not eat food belonging to others, either in mandirs or on the way, because it takes away one’s punya. Hence, one shall eat food bought with their own money.

Gujarati: અને પોતાનાં કામકાજ કરવા તેડ્યા જે મજૂર તેમને જેટલું ધન અથવા ધાન્ય દીધાનું કહ્યું હોય તે પ્રમાણે જ આપવું પણ તેમાંથી ઓછું ન આપવું , અને પોતા પાસે કોઈ કરજ માગતો હોય અને તે કરજ દઈ ચૂક્યા હોઈએ, તે વાતને છાની ન રાખવી; તથા પોતાનો વંશ તથા કન્યાદાન, તે પણ છાનું ન રાખવું; અને દુષ્ટ એવા જે જન, તેમની સાથે વ્યવહાર ન કરવો.
Lipi: Ane potānāṁ kāmakāja karavā ṭēḍyā jē majūra tēmanē jētalu dhan athavā dhānyu dīdhānuṁ kahyu hōy tē pramāṇē j āpavuṁ paṇ tēmānthī ōchhu na āpavuṁ, anē potā pāsē kō’ī karaja māgatō hōy anē tē karaja dē chūkyā hō’īē, tē vātanē chānī na rākhavī; tathā duṣṭa ēvā jē jana, tēmanī sātha vyavahāra na karvō.
English: And one shall pay the agreed amount of money to people employed and they shall never pay less than the agreed amount and they shall not keep secret matters related to debts and family lineage. They shall keep this in writing and shall not deal with people who have bad tendencies.

153.

Gujarati: અને જે ઠેકાણે પોતે રહેતા હોઈએ, તે ઠેકાણે કોઈક કઠણ-ભૂંડો કાળ અથવા શત્રુ અથવા રાજા, તેમના ઉપદ્રવે કરીને સર્વ પ્રકારે પોતાની લાજ જતી હોય કે ધનનો નાશ થતો હોય કે પોતાના પ્રાણનો નાશ થતો હોય.
Lipi: Ane jē ṭhēkāṇē potē rahtā hō’īē, tē ṭhēkāṇē kō’īka kaṭal-bhūṇḍō kāḷa athavā śhatru athavā rājā, tēmana upadravē karīnē sarva prakārē potānī lāj jatī hōy kē dhana-nāśa thtō hōy kē potānā prāṇanō nāśa thtō hōy.
English: And when loss of prestige or estate or life is threatened in a place where they reside either due to a natural disaster or by enemies or harassment by a king;

Gujarati: અને તે જો પોતાના મૂળ ગરાસનું તથા વતનનું ગામ હોય તો પણ તેનો વિવેકી એવા જે અમારા સત્સંગી ગૃહસ્થ તેમણે તત્કાળ ત્યાગ કરી દેવો, અને જ્યાં ઉપદ્રવ ન હોય તેવો જે બીજો દેશ તે પ્રત્યે જઈ ને સુખેથી રહેવું.
Lipi: Ane tē jō potānā mūḷ garāsnu tathā vatnanu gām hōy tō paṇ tēnō vivekī ēvā jē amārā satsaṅgī gṛhasta tēmanē tatkāla tyāga karī dēvō, anē jyā upadrav na hōy tēvō jē bījō dēś tē pratē jā’ē nē sukhethī rahēvu.
English: And even if the place is their native land or inherited estate, my wise gruhast satsangis should renounce such place immediately and reside elsewhere where they can live happily without harassment.

Gujarati: અને ધનાઢ્ય એવા જે ગૃહસ્થ સત્સંગી તેમણે હિંસાએ રહિત એવા જે વિષ્ણુ સંબંધી યજ્ઞ તે કરવા ; તથા તીર્થને વિષે તથા દ્વાદશી આદિક પર્વને વિષે બ્રાહ્મણ તથા સાધુ તેમને જમાડવા.
Lipi: Ane dhanāḍhya ēvā jē gṛhasta satsaṅgī tēmana hinsāē rahit ēvā jē viṣṇu sambandhī yagna tē karavā ; tathā tīrthanē vise tathā dvādaśī ādika parvanaē vise brāhmaṇ tathā sādhu tēmane jamāḍavā.
English: And my wealthy gruhasts satasangis shall perform nonviolent sacrifices like Vishnu yagna; they shall also feed the Brahmins and Sadhus in tirthstans on auspicious days.

Gujarati: અને તે ધનાઢ્ય એવા જે ગૃહસ્થ સત્સંગી તેમણે ભગવાનના મંદિરને વિષે મોટા ઉત્સવ કરાવવા તથા સુપાત્ર એવા જે બ્રાહ્મણ તેમને નાના પ્રકારના દાન દેવા.
Lipi: Ane te dhanāḍhya ēvā jē gṛhastha satsaṅgī tēmaṇē bhagavānana mandirane visē mōṭā utsava karāvavā tathā supātra ēvā jē brāhmaṇa tēmanē nānā prakāranā dāna dēvā.
English: And my wealthy gruhast satsangis shall organize big festivals in mandirs and give alms to worthy Brahmins.

Gujarati: અને અમારે આશ્રિત એવા જે સત્સંગી રાજા તેમણે ધર્મશાસ્ત્રને આશરીને પોતાના પુત્રની પેઠે પોતાની પ્રજાનું પાલન કરવું. અને પૃથ્વીને વિષે ધર્મનું સ્થાપન કરવું.
Lipi: Ane amārē āśrita ēvā jē satsaṅgī rājā tēmaṇē dharmashastranē āśarīnē pōtānā putranī pēṭhē pōtānī prajānu pālana karvu. Ane pṛthvīnē visē dharmanu sthāpan karvu.
English: And my aashrits who are rulers shall treat their subjects as they treat their own children in accordance with Dharmashastras (Hindu law book), and shall establish Dharma on earth.

Gujarati: અને તે રાજા તેમણે રાજ્યનાં જે સાત અંગ તથા ચાર ઉપાય તથા છ ગુણ તે જેતે લક્ષણે કરીને યથાર્થપણે જાણવા અને તીર્થ જે ચાર મોકલ્યાનાં સ્થાનક તથા વ્યવહારના જાણનારા જે સભાસદ તથા દંડવા યોગ્ય જે માણસ તથા દંડવા યોગ્ય નહિ એવા જે માણસ એ સર્વને લક્ષણે કરીને યથાર્થપણે જાણવા.
Lipi: Ane tē rājā tēmaṇē rājyanā jē sāta aṅga tathā chār upāya tathā chha guṇ tē jē te lakṣaṇē karīnē yathārthapṇē jāṇavā anē tīrth jē chār mōkalyānā sthānaka tathā vyavahāranā jāṇanārā jē sabhāsad tathā daṇḍvā yōgya jē māṇas anē daṇḍvā yōgya nahi ēvā jē māṇas ē sarvanē lakṣaṇē karīnē yathārthapṇē jāṇavā.
English: They shall fully know the 7 angas (parts) of a kingdom to administer the state successfully, the 4 upays (ways) to have a successful conquest, 6 guns (diplomatic qualities) and 4 tirths (significant places) to send spies to. Not only shall they know the characteristics of the persons well versed in worldly matters and social affairs, but also the qualities of persons who deserve to be punished and those who do not deserve to be punished.

Gujarati: હવે સુવાસિની બાઈઓના વિશેષ ધર્મ કહીએ છીએ; અમારે આશ્રિત જે સુવાસિની બાઈઓ, તેમણે પોતાનો પતિ અંધ હોય, રોગી હોય, દરિદ્ર હોય, નપુંસક હોય તો પણ તેને ઈશ્વરની પેઠે સેવવો અને તે પતિ પ્રત્યે કટુ વચન ન બોલવું.
Lipi: Have suvāsinī bā’īōnā visēṣa dharma kahīē chhīē; amārē āśrita jē suvāsinī bā’īō, tēmaṇē pōtānō pati andha hōy, rōgī hōy, daridra hōy, napuṁsak hōy tō paṇ tēnē īśvaranī pēṭhē sēvavō anē tē pati pratyē kaṭu vacan na bōlavuṁ.
English: Now specific Dharmas of married women are being described; my female aashrits that are married shall serve and worship their husbands in the manner in which they serve and worship Bhagwan, even if they are blind, ailing, poor or impotent and shall never utter harsh words to them.

Gujarati: અને તે સુવાસિની સ્ત્રીઓ તેમણે રૂપ ને યૌવન તેણે યુક્ત અને ગુણવાન એવો જે અન્ય પુરુષ તેનો પ્રસંગ સહજ સ્વભાવે પણ ન કરવો.
Lipi: Ane tē suvāsinī strīō tēmaṇē rūpa nē yauvana tēṇē yukta anē guṇavān ēvō jē anya puruṣ tēnō prasaṅga sahaja svabhāvē paṇ na karavu.
English: And my female aashrtis who are married shall never keep contact with any young man other than their husband even though the other man may be handsome and or virtuous.

Gujarati: અને પતિવ્રતા એવી જે સુવાસિની સ્ત્રીઓ તેમણે પોતાની નાભિ, સાથળ અને છાતી તેને બીજો પુરુષ દેખે એમ ન વર્તવું અને ઓઢ્યાના વસ્ત્ર વિના ઉઘાડે શરીરે ન રહેવું અને ભાંડભવાઈ જોવા ન જવું અને નિર્લજ્જ એવી જે સ્ત્રીઓ તથા સ્વૈરિણી, કામિની અને પુંશ્ચલી એવી જે સ્ત્રીઓ, તેમનો સંગ ન કરવો.
Lipi: Ane pativrata ēvī jē suvāsinī strīō tēmaṇē pōtānī nābhi, sāthala anē chātī tēnē bījō puruṣ dēkhē ēma na vartavu anē ōḍhyānā vastra vinā ughāḍē śarīrē na rahēvu anē bhāṇḍabhavā’ī jōvā na juvu anē nirlajja ēvī jē strīō tathā svairiṇī, kāminī anē puṁścalī ēvī jē strīō, tēnō saṅga na karavo.
English: And devout wives shall never act in a manner that would expose their breasts, navel or thighs, and attract the attention of other males and they shall never keep their bodies uncovered and they shall never go to see vulgar shows nor associate with immoral women or courtesans.

Gujarati: અને તે સુવાસિની સ્ત્રીઓ, તેમણે પોતાનો પતિ પરદેશ ગયે સતે આભૂષણ ન ધારવાં, રૂડાં વસ્ત્ર ન પહેરવાં; પારકેઘેર બેસવા ન જવું અને હાસ્ય વિનોદાદિકનો ત્યાગ કરવો.
Lipi: Ane tē suvāsinī strīō, tēmaṇē pōtānō pati paradēś gayē satē ābhūṣaṇa n dhārvāṁ, rūḍāṁ vastara n pahērvāṁ; pārakeghēra bēsavā n juvuṁ anē hāsyavādādikano tyāga karvuṁ.
English: And when the husbands of married women are far away from home, they shall not wear attractive clothing or ornaments, visit other peoples’ homes nor indulge in joyous activities.

Gujarati: હવે વિધવા સ્ત્રીઓના વિશેષ ધર્મ કહીએ છીએ; અમારે આશ્રિત જે વિધવા સ્ત્રીઓ તેમણે તો પતિ બુદ્ધિએ કરીને શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાનને સેવવા અને પોતાના પિતા પુત્રાદિક જે સંબંધી, તેમની આજ્ઞાને વિષે વર્તવું પણ સ્વતંત્રપણે ન વર્તવું.
Lipi: Have vidhavā strīōnā visēṣa dharma kahīē chhīē; amārē āśrita jē vidhavā strīō tēmanē tō pati buddhiē karīnē śrīkṛṣhṇa bhagavānani sevavā anē pōtānā pitā putrādik jē sambandhī, tēmanī āgyānē visē vartavu paṇ svatantrapṇē na vartavu.
English: Now specific dharmas of widowed women are being described; my widowed aashrits shall worship Shree Krishna Bhagwan as their husbands. They shall always live under the commandment of their father, sons or other such relatives but never act independently.

Gujarati: અને તે વિધવા સ્ત્રીઓ તેમણે પોતાના સમીપ સંબંધ વિનાના જે પુરુષ તેમનો સ્પર્શ ક્યારેય ન કરવો; અને પોતાની યુવાવસ્થાને વિષે અવશ્ય કાર્ય વિના સમીપ સંબંધ વિનાના જે યુવાન પુરુષ, તેમની સાથે ક્યારેય પણ બોલવું નહિ
Lipi: Ane tē vidhavā strīō tēmanē pōtānā samīpa sambandha vinānā jē puruṣ tēmanō sparsa kyārē na karavu; anē pōtānī yuvā avasthā nē visē avśhya kārya vinā samīpa sambandha vinānā jē yuvāna puruṣ, tēnē sātha kyārē pun bolvu nahi
English: And widowed women shall never touch any male who is not closely related to them; and young widows shall never converse with any young man who are not closely related unless absolutely necessary.

Gujarati: અને ધાવણો જે બાળક, તેના સ્પર્શને વિષે તો જેમ પશુને અડી જવાય અને દોષ નથી તેમ દોષ નથી; અને કોઈ અવશ્યનું કામકાજ પડે તેને વિષે કોઈક વૃધ્ધ પુરુષને અડી જવાય તથા તે વૃધ્ધ સાથે બોલાય તેને વિષે દોષ નથી.
Lipi: Ane dhāvaṇō jē bāḷak, tēnā sparsanē visē tō jēma paśunē aḍī javāy anē doṣh nathi tēma dosh nathi; anē kō’ī avśhyanu kārya padē tēnē visē kō’ī vṛddha puruṣanē aḍī javāy tathā tē vṛddha sātha bolāy tēnē visē doṣh nathi.
English: And there is no offense in casually touching an infant just as there is not offense in touching cattle; And there is no offense in touching or conversing with an old man when it becomes absolutely necessary.

Gujarati: અને તે વિધવા સ્ત્રીઓ તેમણે પોતાના સમીપ સંબંધ વિનાના જે પુરુષ, તે થકી કોઈપણ વિદ્યા ન ભણવી; અને વ્રત ઉપવાસે કરીને વારંવાર પોતાના દેહનું દમન કરવું
Lipi: Ane te vidhva strio temane potana samip sambandh vina na je purush, te thaki koi pan vidya na bhanavi; ane vrat upvase kari ne varanvar potana dehnu daman karvu.
English: And widowed women shall not receive education from a male person who is not closely related to them; and they shall constantly control their body and senses by observing vrats (fasts).

167.

Gujarati: અને તે વિધવા સ્ત્રીઓ, તેમણે પોતાના ઘરમાં પોતાના જીવનપર્યંત દેહ નિર્વાહ થાય એટલું જ જો ધન હોય તો તે ધન જે તે ધર્મ કાર્યને વિષે પણ ન આપવું અને જો તેથી અધિક હોય તો આપવું
Lipi: Ane te vidhva strio, temane potana gharma potana jivanparyant deh-nirvah thay etluj dhana hoy to te dhan je te dharm karyane vise pan na aapvu ane jeo te tethi adhik hoy to aapvu.
English: And those widowed women who have just sufficient wealth for lifetime maintenance, shall not offer it even for religious purposes; they may do so if they have a surplus to their requirements.

Gujarati: અને વિધવા સ્ત્રીઓ તેમણે એકવાર આહાર કરવો અને પૃથ્વીને વિષે સૂવું અને મૈથુનાસક્ત એવાં જે પશુપક્ષી આદિક જીવપ્રાણી માત્ર તેમને ક્યારેય જાણીને જોવા નહીં.
Lipi: Ane vidhva strio temane ekvar aahar karvo ane pruthvinu vise suvu ane maithunaskt evan je pashupakshi aadi jivaprani matra te manne janine jovani nahi.
English: And widowed women shall take a meal only once a day and sleep on the floor and they shall never deliberately look at any creature in the act of procreation.

169.

Gujarati: અને તે વિધવા સ્ત્રીઓ, તેમણે સુવાસિની સ્ત્રીના જેવો વેષ ન ધારવો, તથા સંન્યાસણી તથા વૈરાગણી તેના જેવો વેષ ન ધારવો, અને પોતાના દેશ, કુળ અને આચાર તેને વિરુધ્ધ એવો જે વેષ તે પણ ક્યારેય ન ધારવો.
Lipi: Ane te vidhva strio, temane suvāsinī strina jevo vesh na dharvo, tatha sannyasni tatha vairagni tena jevo vesha na dharvo, ane potana desh, kul ane achar tena viruddh evo je vesha te pun kyare na dharvo.
English: And widowed women shall never dress like a married woman, a sanyasi (female recluse), vairagi (nun) nor dress in a manner which is contrary to the custom of the place or their family.

170.

Gujarati: અને ગર્ભની પાડનારી જે સ્ત્રી તેનો સંગ ન કરવો અને તેનો સ્પર્શ પણ ન કરવો ; અને પુરુષના શૃંગારરસ સંબંધી જે વાર્તા, તે ક્યારેય ન કરવી અને ન સાંભળવી.
Lipi: Ane garbhani padnari je stri te no sang na karvo ane teno sparsh pan na karvo; ane purushna shrunghar rus sambandhi je varta, te kyare na karvi ane na sambhavi.
English: And they shall never associate with, nor even touch women who practice abortion; and they shall not indulge in or listen to lustful conversations regarding males.

Gujarati: અને યુવા અવસ્થાને વિષે રહી એવી જે વિધવા સ્ત્રીઓ, તેમણે યુવા અવસ્થાવાળા જે પોતાના સંબંધી પુરુષ તેમની સંગાથે પણ એકાંતસ્થળને વિષે આપત્કાળ પડ્યા વિના ન રહેવું
Lipi: Ane yuva avasthane vise rahi evi je vidhva strio, temane yuva avasthavala je potana sambandhi purush temne sangath e ekantsthalne vise apatkal padya vina na rahevu.
English: And except in the case of an emergency, young widows shall never stay in a secluded place with young men, even though they may be closely related.

172.

Gujarati: અને હોળીની રમત ન કરવી ને આભૂષણાદિકનું ધારણ ન કરવું અને સુવર્ણાદિક ધાતુના તારે યુક્ત એવા જે ઝીણાં વસ્ત્ર તેનું ધારણ પણ ક્યારેય ન કરવું.
Lipi: Ane holi ni ramat na karvi ne abhushanadiknu dharan na karvu ane suvarnadi dhatuna tare yukt evo je zhina vastro tenun dharan pan kyare na karvu.
English: And widowed women shall never play Holi or participate in similar festivities, nor shall they dress themselves with ornaments and/or wear transparent clothes interwoven with precious metals.

Gujarati: અને સુવાસિની ને વિધવા એવી જે સ્ત્રીઓ તેમણે વસ્ત્રો પહેર્યા વિના નહાવું નહિ અને પોતાનું જે રજસ્વલાપણું તે કોઈ પ્રકારે ગુપ્ત ન રાખવું.
Lipi: Ane suvasini ne vidhva evi je strio, te vastro paherya vina navu ane potanu je rajswalapnu te koi prakare gupt na rakhvu.
English: And all married and widowed women shall never bathe without wearing clothes and shall not hide their rajaswalapanu (periodical menses).

Gujarati: અને વળી રજસ્વલા એવી જે સુવાસિની અને વિધવા સ્ત્રીઓ, તે ત્રણ દિવસ સુધી કોઈ મનુષ્યને તથા વસ્ત્રાદિકને અડે નહિ અને ચોથે દિવસે નાહીને અડવું. (એવી રીતે ગૃહસ્થાશ્રમી એવા જે પુરુષ અને સ્ત્રીઓ તેમના જે આ વિશેષ ધર્મ કહ્યા તે સર્વે ધર્મવંશી આચાર્ય અને તેમની પત્નીઓ તેમણે પણ પાળવા, કેમ કે એ ગૃહસ્થ છે.)
Lipi: Ane vali rajswala evi je suvasini ane vidhva strio, te tran divas sudhi koi manushyane tatha vastradikne ade nahine chothe divase nahine adavu. (Evi rite grhasthashrami je purush ane strio temna je a vishes dharm kahya te sarve dharmavanshi acharya ane temni patniyo temne pan palva, kem ke e grhasth che.)
English: And married and widowed women during periodical menses should not touch anybody and/or clothes for the first three days, but may do so after bathing on the fourth day. (Thus the specific Dharmas of gruhasts are described. These Dharmas should be observed by all Acharyas and their wives, as they are gruhasts too)

Gujarati: હવે નૈષ્ઠિક બ્રહ્મચારીના જે વિશેષ ધર્મ તે કહીએ છીએ. અમારે આશ્રિત એવા જે નૈષ્ઠિક બ્રહ્મચારી તેમણે સ્ત્રી માત્રનો સ્પર્શ ન કરવો; અને સ્ત્રીઓ સંગાથે બોલવું નહિ, અને જાણીને તે સ્ત્રીઓ સન્મુખ જોવું નહિ.
Lipi: Have naishtik brahmacharina je vise dharm kehie che. Amare ashrita eva je naishtik brahmachari temne stri matrano sparsh n karvo; ane strio sangathe bolvu nahi, ane janine te strio sanmukh jovu nahi.
English: Now I narrate the specific dharmas of Naishthik Brahmacharis. All Naishthik Brahmacharis who are my aashrits, shall never touch, talk nor intentionally look at any female.

Gujarati: અને તે સ્ત્રીઓની વાર્તા ક્યારેય ન કરવી અને ન સાંભળવી; અને જે સ્થાનકને વિષે સ્ત્રીઓનો પગફેર હોય, તે સ્થાનકને વિષે સ્નાનાદિક ક્રિયા કરવા ન જવું.
Lipi: Ane te striyoni varta kyarey na karvi ane na sambhavi; ane je sthanakne vishe striono pagapher hoy, te sthanakne vishe snanadi kriya karva na ju.
English: And they shall never talk of females nor listen to talks about females and shall not bathe at places where women frequently visits.

Gujarati: અને દેવતાની પ્રતિમા વિના બીજી જે સ્ત્રીની પ્રતિમા, ચિત્રની અથવા કાષ્ઠાદિકની હોય તેનો સ્પર્શ ન કરવો; અને જાણીને તો તે પ્રતિમાને જોવી પણ નહિ.
Lipi: Ane devtanī pratimā vinā bījī je strīnī pratimā, citr-nī athvā kāṣṭhādīk-nī hoy teno spars̱ẖa na karvo; ane jāṇīne to te pratimāne jovi pan nahi.
English: And they shall never touch nor purposely look at images of females, pictures or murtis made from fibers except those of Devis (goddesses).

Gujarati: અને તે નૈષ્ઠિક બ્રહ્મચારી તેમણે સ્ત્રીની પ્રતિમા ન કરવી, અને સ્ત્રીએ પોતાના શરીર ઉપર ધારેલું જે વસ્ત્ર તેને અડવું નહિ; અને મૈથુનાસક્ત એવાં જે પશુ-પક્ષી આદિક પ્રાણી માત્ર, તેમને જાણીને જોવા નહિ.
Lipi: Ane te naishtik brahmachārī temne strīnī pratimā na karvi, ane strīe potānā sharīr upar dhāreluṁ je vastr tene aḍavu nahi; ane maithunāsakta evāṁ je paśu-pakṣī ādik prāṇī mātra, temne jāṇīne jova nahi.
English: And Naishthik Brahmacharis should never draw images of women and never touch clothes worn or touched by women; and they should never deliberately look at any creature in the act of procreation.

Gujarati: અને સ્ત્રીના વેષને ધરી રહ્યો એવો જે પુરુષ તેને અડવું નહિ અને તેની સામું જોવું નહિ; અને તે સાથે બોલવું નહિ અને સ્ત્રીનો ઉદ્દેશ કરીને ભગવાનની કથા, વાર્તા, કીર્તન પણ ન કરવા.
Lipi: Ane strīnā ves̱ẖane dhari rahyo evo jo puruṣ teno aḍavu nahi ane teni sāmu jovu nahi; ane te sāthē bolvu nahi ane strīno upadesha karīne Bhagwān-nī kathā, vārtā, kīrtan pan na karva.
English: And they shall never look at nor talk to a man who is disguised as a female; and they shall not do katha-varta (preach) or sing kirtans directed at females.

Gujarati: અને તે નૈષ્ઠિક બ્રહ્મચારી, તેમણે પોતાના બ્રહ્મચર્ય વ્રતનો ત્યાગ થાય એવું જે વચન તે તો પોતાના ગુરુનું પણ ન માનવું; ને સદાકાળ ધીરજવાન રહેવું અને સંતોષે યુક્ત રહેવું ને માને રહિત રહેવું
Lipi: Ane te naishtik brahmachārī, temne potānā brahmachary vratanō tyāg, thāy evo jo vachana to te potānā guru-nu pun na mānvu; ne sadākāla dhīrajvān rehvu ane santōṣē yukta rehvu ne mānē rahit rehvu
English: And Naishthik Brahmacharis shall not consider any command that violates their celibacy, even if the command is given by their guru; they shall have qualities like patience and humility.

Gujarati: અને બળાત્કારે કરીને પોતાને અતિશય સમીપે આવતી એવી જે સ્ત્રી તેને બોલીને અથવા તિરસ્કાર કરીને પણ તુરત વારવી, પણ સમીપે આવવા દેવી નહિ
Lipi: Ane balātkaṛē karīne potānē atishaya samīpē āvatī evo jo strī tenē bolīne athavā tīraskāra karīne paṇ turata vārvī, pan samīpē āvavā dēvī nahi
English: And if a woman forcibly or deliberately comes close to them, they should stop her, by either talking to her or turning her away immediately, but never allowing her to come near.

Gujarati: અને જો ક્યારેક સ્ત્રીઓનો અથવા પોતાનો પ્રાણ નાશ થાય, એવો આપત્કાળ આવી પડે, ત્યારે તો તે સ્ત્રીઓને અડીને અથવા તે સાથે બોલીને પણ તે સ્ત્રીઓની રક્ષા કરવી અને પોતાની પણ રક્ષા કરવી.
Lipi: Ane jo kyārēk strīōnō athavā potānō prāṇa nāśa thāy, evo āpatkāla āvī paḍē, tyārē to tē strīōnē adīnē athavā tē sāthē bolīne paṇ tē strīōnī rakṣā karvī ane potānī pan rakṣā karvī.
English: And if there is an emergency where a woman’s or their own life is at risk, then they may talk to the woman and/or touch her to protect her and themselves.

Gujarati: અને તે નૈષ્ઠિક બ્રહ્મચારી તેમણે પોતાને શરીરે તૈલમર્દન ન કરવું ને આયુધ ન ધારવું, ને ભયંકર એવો જે વેષ તે ન ધારવો અને રસના ઇન્દ્રિયને જીતવી
Lipi: Ane te naishtik brahmachārī, temne potānē sharīrē tailamardana na karvu nē āyudha na dhārvu, nē bhayankara evo jo vēṣ tē na dhārvu ane rasanā indriyanē jītavī
English: And those who are Naishthik Brahmacharis shall not massage their bodies with oil, carry arms, and/or dress in frightful clothes; and they shall always keep their sense of taste under control.

Gujarati: અને જે બ્રાહ્મણના ઘરને વિષે સ્ત્રી પીરસનારી હોય, તેને ઘેર ભિક્ષા કરવા જવું નહિ ને જ્યાં પુરુષ પીરસનારો હોય ત્યાં જવું
Lipi: Ane je brāhmaṇanā gharnē vishe strī pīrasanārī hōy, tenē gher bhikshā karvā juṁ nahi ne jyāṁ puruṣ pīrasanārō hōy tyāṁ javāṁ
English: And they shall never go to those Brahmin’s homes where alms are served by females, instead they shall receive alms where it is served by males.

Gujarati: અને તે નૈષ્ઠિક બ્રહ્મચારી, તેમણે વેદશાસ્ત્રનો અભ્યાસ કરવો ને ગુરુની સેવા કરવી; ને સ્ત્રીઓની પેઠે જ સ્ત્રૈણ પુરુષનો સંગ, જે તે સર્વકાળે વર્જવો
Lipi: Ane te naishtik brahmachārī, temnē veḍaśāstranō abhyāsa karvō nē gurunī sevā karvī; nē strīōnī pēṭhē jē straiṇa puruṣanō sanga, jē tē sarvakālē varjvō
English: And those that are Naishthik Brahmacharis, shall study the Vedas and Shastras and serve their Guru. They shall never associate with effeminate males, just as they would never associate with females.

Gujarati: અને જાતિએ કરીને જે બ્રાહ્મણ હોય, તે કોઈએ પણ ચર્મવારી ન પીવું ને ડુંગળી ને લસણ આદિક જે અભક્ષ્ય વસ્તુ તે બ્રાહ્મણ જાતિ હોય તેણે કોઈ પ્રકારે ન ખાવી.
Lipi: Ane jātiē karīne je brāhmaṇ hōy, tē kō’īē paṇ charmavārī na pīvu, nē ḍuṅgaḷī nē lasaṇ ādika je abhakṣya vastu tē brāhmaṇ jāti hōy tēṇe kō’ī prakāra nā khāvī.
English: And those who are Brahmins by caste, shall never drink water which has been passed through a leather vessel and they shall never consume foods like onion and/or garlic.

187.

Gujarati: અને જે બ્રાહ્મણ હોય તેણે સ્નાન, સંધ્યા ગાયત્રીનો જપ, શ્રીવિષ્ણુની પૂજા અને વૈશ્વદેવ એટલા વાના કર્યા વિના ભોજન કરવું જ નહિ. (એવી રીતે નૈષ્ઠિક બ્રહ્મચારીના વિશેષ ધર્મ કહ્યા.)
Lipi: Ane je brāhmaṇ hōy tēṇe snāna, sandhyā gāyatrinō jap, śrīviṣṇunī pūjā ane vaishvadēva atlā vānā karyā vinā bhojan karvuṁ j nahi. (Ēvī rītē naishtik brahmachārīnā visheṣa dharam khyā.)
English: And those who are Brahmins, shall never take their meal without taking a bath, doing Sandhya puja, Gayatri Mantra Jaap, puja of Shree Vishnu Bhagwan and Vaishvadev (thaal)(Thus the specific Dharmas of Naishthik Brahmachari are described.)

Gujarati: હવે સાધુના જે વિશેષ ધર્મ તે કહીએ છીએ; અમારે આશ્રિત જે સર્વે સાધુ તેમણે નૈષ્ઠિક બ્રહ્મચારીની પેઠે સ્ત્રીઓનાં દર્શન-ભાષણાદિક પ્રસંગનો ત્યાગ કરવો તથા સ્ત્રૈણ પુરુષના પ્રસંગાદિકનો ત્યાગ કરવો; અને અંત: શત્રુ જે કામ, ક્રોધ, લોભ અને માન આદિક તેમને જીતવા
Lipi: Have sādhuṇā jē visheṣa dharam tē kahī’ē chhī’ē; amārē āśrita jē sarvē sādhu tēmaṇē naishtik brahmachārīnī pēṭhē strīōnāṁ darśana-bhāṣhaṇādika prasaṅganō tyāga karvuṁ tathā straiṇa puruṣanā prasaṅgādikanō tyāga karvuṁ; ane antaḥ-śhatru jē kāma, krōdha, lōbha ane māna ādika tēmane jītavā
English: Now the specific Dharmas of Sadhus are being described; just as Naishthik Brahmacharis, Sadhus shall avoid association with females and effeminate males. Just as Naishthik Brahmcharis, Sadhus shall avoid seeing and talking with females and effeminate males; and they shall conquer inner enemies like kaam (lust), krodh (anger), lobh (greed), maan (pride) etc.

189.

Gujarati: અને સર્વે જે ઇન્દ્રિયો તે જીતવી ને રસના ઇન્દ્રિયને તો વિશેષે કરીને જીતવી; અને દ્રવ્યનો સંગ્રહ પોતે કરવો નહિ ને કોઈ બીજા પાસે પણ કરાવવો નહિ.
Lipi: Ane sarvē jē indriyō tē jītavī nē rasanā indriyanē tō visheṣē karīnē jītavī; ane dravyanō saṅgraha pōthē karvō nahi nē kō’ī bījā pāsē paṇ kařvavō nahi.
English: And they shall control their indriyo (senses), especially the sense of taste; And they shall not accumulate wealth or ask others to do so on their behalf.

190.

Gujarati: અને કોઈની થાપણ ન રાખવી અને ક્યારેય પણ ધીરજતાનો ત્યાગ ન કરવો અને પોતાના ઉતારાની જાયગા બંધિની હોય તો તેને વિષે ક્યારેય પણ સ્ત્રીનો પ્રવેશ થવા દેવો નહિ.
Lipi: Ane kō’īnī thāpaṇ na rākhavī ane kyārē pana dhīrajatānō tyāga na karvō ane potānā utārānī jāgayā bandhinī hōy tō tēnē vishe kyarē pana strīnō pravesha thavā dēvō nahi.
English: And they shall never accept deposits from others, never lose their patience and shall never allow a female to enter their place of residence.

191.

Gujarati: અને તે સાધુ તેમણે, આપત્કાળ પડ્યા વિના રાત્રીને વિષે સંઘ સોબત વિનાનું ચાલવું નહિ તથા આપત્કાળ પડ્યા વિના ક્યારેય પણ એકલા ચાલવું નહિ.
Lipi: Ane tē sādhu tēmaṇē, āpatkāla padyā vinā rātrīnē vishe santa sobata vinānu chālvaṁ nahi tathā āpatkāla padyā vinā kyārē pana ēkalā chālvaṁ nahi
English: And except in the case of an emergency, Sadhus shall never go out alone at night nor shall they go out any other times without the companion of other Sadhus

Gujarati: અને જે વસ્ત્ર બહુ મૂલ્યવાળું હોય તથા ચિત્રવિચિત્ર ભાતનું હોય, તથા કસુંબાદિક જે રંગ તેણે કરીને રંગેલું હોય તથા શાલ-દુશાલા હોય ને તે જો બીજાની ઈચ્છાએ કરીને પોતાને પ્રાપ્ત થયું હોય, તો પણ તે વસ્ત્ર પોતાને પહેરવું ઓઢવું નહિ.
Lipi: Ane jē vastru bahu mūlyavāluṁ hōy tathā citra vichitrabhātnuṁ hōy, tathā kasuṁbādika jē raṅga tēṇē karīnē raṅgeluṁ hōy tathā śāla-duśālā hōy nē tē jō bījānī īcchāē karīnē potānē prāpta thayuṁ hōy, tō paṇ tē vastru potānē paheravuṁ ōḍhavuṁ nahi.
English: And they shall never wear clothing that is expensive, has decorations, dyed with gaudy colors and/or shawls or other garments even if they are offered to them by others.

Gujarati: અને ભિક્ષા તથા સભા પ્રસંગ એ બે કાર્ય વિના ગૃહસ્થના ઘર પ્રત્યે જવું નહિ; અને ભગવાનની જે નવ પ્રકારની ભક્તિ તે વિના વ્યર્થ કાળ નિર્ગમવો નહિ, નિરંતર ભક્તિ કરીને જ કાળ નિર્ગમવો.
Lipi: Ane bhikṣā ane sabhā prasaṅga ē bē kārya vinā gṛhasthanā ghara pratyē javuṁ nahi; ane bhagavān-nī jē naav prakāranī bhakti tē vinā vyarth kāla nirgamavō nahi, nirantara bhakti karīnēj kāla nirgamavō.
English: And they shall never go to a Gruhast’s home except for receiving alms or a sabha prasang (religious gathering); and they shall always utilize their time in Bhagwan’s 9 types of bhakti instead of wasting their time idly.

194.

Gujarati: અને જે ગૃહસ્થના ઘરને વિષે રાંધેલ અન્નનો પીરસનારો પુરુષ જ હોય તથા સ્ત્રીઓનો દર્શનાદિક પ્રસંગ કોઈ રીતે થાય એમ ન હોય.
Lipi: Anē jē gruhasthanā gharanē vishe rānḍhēla annanō pīrasanārō puruṣ jē hoy tathā strī’ōnō darśanādik prasaṅga kō’ī rītē thāy ēm na hoy.
English: And they shall receive meals from a gruhasts house where cooked food is served by males, and where they have no contact or sight of females.

Gujarati: તેવી રીતનું જે ગૃહસ્થનું ઘર તે પ્રત્યે અમારા સાધુ તેમણે જમવા જવું અને એ કહ્યું તેવું ન હોય તો કાચું અન્ન માગીને પોતાના હાથે રસોઈ કરવી ને ભગવાનને નૈવેદ્ય ધરીને જમવું
Lipi: Teṁ vī rīṭ nuṁ je gṛhasth nuṁ ghar te pratye amārā sādhu teṁne jamavā javuṁ ane ē kahyūṁ tevuṁ na hōy tō kācuṁ anna māgīne potānē hāthē rasō’ī karvī nē bhagavān-nē naivēdyadhariṇē jamavuṁ
English: If the facility is not available for the Sadhu, then they shall ask for uncooked food and prepare and offer it to Shree Krishna Bhagwan and then consume the prasad.

Gujarati: અને પૂર્વે ઋષભદેવ ભગવાનના પુત્ર જે ભરતજી તે જે તે પૃથ્વીને વિષે જડ બ્રાહ્મણ થકા જેમ વર્તતા હવા તેમજ પરમહંસ એવા જે અમારા સાધુ તેમણે વર્તવું.
Lipi: Ane pūrvē ṛṣabhadēva bhagavān nā putra je bharatajī tē je tē pṛthvī nē viṣē jaḍa brāhmaṇ thakā jeṁ vartatā havā tēmaṁ ane paramahaṅsa ēvā je amārā sādhu tēmaṁne vartavuṁ.
English: And my Paramhansas and Sadhu’s shall behave and live like Bharatiji, the son of Rishabdev Bhagwan, who behaved like a Jad (insensate) Brahmin.

197.

Gujarati: અને નૈષ્ઠિક બ્રહ્મચારી ને એ સાધુ તેમણે તાંબુલ તથા અફીણ તથા તમાકુ ઈત્યાદિકનું જે ભક્ષણ તે જતને કરીને વર્જવું.
Lipi: Ane naishtika brahmacārī nē e sādhu teṁne tāmbula tathā aphīṇa tathā tamāku ītyādika nuṁ je bhakṣaṇ te je tana karīne varjavaṁ.
English: And Naishthik Brahmacharis and Sadhus shall strictly abstain from taking betel leaves, opium, tobacco and other similar intoxicating substances.

198.

Gujarati: અને તે નૈષ્ઠિક બ્રહ્મચારી ને સાધુ તેમણે ગર્ભાધાન આદિક જે સંસ્કાર તેમને વિષે જમવું નહિ તથા એકાદશાહ પર્યંત જે પ્રેતશ્રાદ્ધ તેમને વિષે જમવું નહિ તથા દ્વાદશાહ શ્રાદ્ધને વિષે જમવું નહિ.
Lipi: Ane tē naishtika brahmacārī nē sādhu teṁne garbhādhāna ādika je sanskāra tēmanē viṣē jamavuṁ nahi tathā ēkādaśāha paryaṁta je pretaśrāddha tēmanē viṣē jamavuṁ nahi tathā dvādaśāha śrāddhane viṣē jamavuṁ nahi.
English: And Naishthik Brahmacharis and Sadhus shall not consume food at ceremonies pertaining to conception and other Sanskars or Pretashraadh (funeral rites) of the eleventh day and twelfth day.

Gujarati: અને રોગાદિક આપત્કાળ પડ્યા વિના દિવસે સુવું નહિ અને ગ્રામ્યવાર્તા કરવી નહિ ને જાણીને સાંભળવી નહિ
Lipi: Ane rogādika āpatkāla padyā vinā divase suvuṁ nahi ane grāmyavārtā karvī nahi nē jāṇīne sāṅbhālavī nahi
English: And unless they are unwell, they shall never sleep during the daytime and they shall never indulge in gossip and or listen to it.

200.

Gujarati: અને તે નૈષ્ઠિક બ્રહ્મચારી ને સાધુ તેમણે રોગાદિક આપત્કાળ પડ્યા વિના ખાટલા ઉપર સૂવું નહિ, અને સાધુની આગળ તો નિરંતર નિષ્કપટપણે વર્તવું
Lipi: Ane tē naishtika brahmacārī nē sādhu teṁne rogādika āpatkāla padyā vinā khāṭalā upara sūvuṁ nahi, ane sādhu nī āgaḷ to nirantara niṣkapṭapuṇē vartavuṁ
English: And Naishthik Brahmacharis and Sadhus shall not sleep on a bed unless they are unwell; and they shall always behave without arrogance or hypocrisy with other Sadhus.

201.

Gujarati: અને તે સાધુ અને બ્રહ્મચારી તેમણે કોઈક કુમતિવાળા દુષ્ટ જન હોય, ને તે પોતાને ગાળ દે અથવા મારે તો તે સહન જ કરવું, પણ તેને સામી ગાળ ન દેવી ને મારવો નહિ, અને તેનું જેમ હિત થાય તેમજ મનમાં ચિંતવન કરવું, પણ તેનું ભુંડુ થાય એવો તો સંકલ્પ પણ ન કરવો.
Lipi: Ane tē sādhu ane brahmacārī teṁne kō’īka kumativālā duṣṭa jana hōy, nē tē potānē gāḷ dē athavā mārē to tē sahana j karvuṁ, paṇ tēnē sāmī gāḷ na dēvī nē mārvō nahi, ane tēnū jeṁ hit thāy tēmaṁ ane manmāṁ cintavana karvuṁ, paṇ tēnū bhunḍu thāy ēvo tō saṅkalpa paṇ na karvuṁ.
English: And Sadhus and Brahmacharis shall not retaliate if they are insulted with abusive words or beaten by a wicked person, but in return should pardon them and wish them well.

202.

Gujarati: અને કોઈનું દૂતપણું ન કરવું તથા ચાડિયાપણું ન કરવું ને કોઈના ચારચક્ષુ ન થવું અને દેહને વિષે અહંબુદ્ધિ ન કરવી ને સ્વજનાદિકને વિષે મમતા ન કરવી. (એવી રીતે સાધુના વિશેષ ધર્મ કહ્યા.)
Lipi: Ane kō’īnunu dūtapuṇuṁ na karvuṁ tathā chāḍiyāpuṇuṁ na karvuṁ nē kō’īnā chārachakṣu na thavuṁ ane dehane viṣē ahaṁbuddhi na karvī nē svajanādika nē viṣē mamatā na karvī. (Ēvī rītē sādhu nā visheṣa dharam kahyā.)
English: And they shall never act as a messenger, indulge in backbiting or spying, and they shall not have ego towards their body and/or have any attachments toward their relatives. (Thus the specific Dharmas of Sadhus are described).

Gujarati: અને અમારે આશ્રિત એવા જે સત્સંગી બાઈભાઈ સર્વે તેમના જે સામાન્ય ધર્મ અને વિશેષ ધર્મ તે જે તે સંક્ષેપે કરીને આવી રીતે અમે લખ્યા છે અને આ ધર્મનો જે વિસ્તાર તે તો અમારા સંપ્રદાયના જે ગ્રંથ તે થકી જાણવો.
Lipi: Ane amārē āśrita ēvā je satsaṅgī bā’ībhā’ī sarvē tēmanā je sāmānya dharam ane visheṣa dharam tē je tē sāṅkṣēpē karīnē āvī rītē amē likhyā chhē ane ā ā dharamanō je visṭāra tē tō amārā sampradāyanā jē grantha tē thakī jāṇavō.
English: And I have thus described briefly, the general and specific Dharmas of my Aashrits. For details, they shall refer to other Shastras of our Sampraday.

Gujarati: અને સર્વે જે સત્શાસ્ત્ર તેનો જે સાર તેને અમે અમારી બુદ્ધિએ કરીને ઉદ્ધારીને આ શિક્ષાપત્રી જે તે લખી છે તે કેવી છે – તો સર્વે મનુષ્યમાત્રને મનવાંછિત ફળની દેનારી છે
Lipi: Ane sarvē jē satsaṅga tēnō jē sāra tēnē amē amārī buddhiē karīnē uddhārīnē ā ā śhikṣhāpatrī jē tē kēvī chhē – tō sarvē manuṣyamātra nē manvāṉchiṭa phaḷanī dēnārī chhē
English: And I have written this Shikshapatri taking the essence from all the Shastras. This will fulfill the wishes of all my aashrits.

Gujarati: એ હેતુ માટે અમારા આશ્રિત જે સર્વે સત્સંગી તેમણે સાવધાનપણે કરીને નિત્યપ્રત્યે આ શિક્ષાપત્રીને અનુસરીને જ વર્તવું. પણ પોતાના મનને જાણે તો ક્યારેય ન વર્તવું
Lipi: Ē hētu māṭē amārā āśrita jē sarvē satsaṅgī tēmanē sāvadhānapaṇē karīnē nityapratyē ā ā śhikṣhāpatrīnē anusarīnē je varṭavuṁ. Paṇ potānā mana nē jāṇē tō kyārēy n varṭavuṁ
English: Therefore, all my aashrits shall always live their lives following the precepts of the Shikshapatri and shall never behave as they desire.

Gujarati: અને જે અમારા આશ્રિત પુરુષ ને સ્ત્રીઓ તે જે તે આ શિક્ષાપત્રી પ્રમાણે વર્તશે, તો તે ધર્મ, અર્થ, કામ ને મોક્ષ એ ચાર પુરુષાર્થની સિદ્ધિને નિશ્ચે પામશે.
Lipi: Anē jē amārā āśrita puruṣ nē strī’ō tē je tē ā ā śhikṣhāpatrī pramāṇē vartaśē, tō tē dharama, artha, kāma nē mōkṣa ē caār puruṣārthanī siddhinē niśchaya pāmashē.
English: And my aashrits, male or female who follow this Shikshapatri, shall definitely attain Dharma, Arth, Kam and Moksh – the four Purusharthas (desired objects).

Gujarati: અને જે બાઈ-ભાઈ, આ શિક્ષાપત્રી પ્રમાણે નહિ વર્તે તે તો અમારા સંપ્રદાય થકી બાહેર છે એમ અમારા સંપ્રદાયવાળા સ્ત્રી-પુરુષ તેમણે જાણવું.
Lipi: Ane jē bā’ī-bhā’ī, ae ā śhikṣhāpatrī pramāṇē nahi vartē tē tō amārā sampadāya thakī bāhēra chhē ēma amārā sampadāyavālā strī-puruṣ tēmanē jāṇavuṁ.
English: And my male and female aashrits, shall understand that those who do not follow the Shikshapatri shall be considered as exiled from our Sampraday.

Gujarati: અને અમારા જે આશ્રિત સત્સંગી તેમણે આ શિક્ષાપત્રીનો નિત્યપ્રત્યે પાઠ કરવો અને જેને ભણતા આવડતું ન હોય તેમણે તો આદર થકી આ શિક્ષાપત્રીનું શ્રવણ કરવું
Lipi: Ane amārā jē āśrita satsaṅgī tēmanē ā śhikṣhāpatrīnō nityapratyē pāṭha karvō ane jēnē bhaṇatā āvaḍatun nahi hōy tēmanē tō ādara thakī ae ā śhikṣhāpatrīnūṁ śravaṇa karvu
English: And my aashrits shall read this Shikshapatri daily, and those who cannot read, shall listen to it daily with respect.

Gujarati: અને આ શિક્ષાપત્રીને વાંચી સંભળાવે એવો કોઈ ન હોય ત્યારે તો નિત્યપ્રત્યે આ શિક્ષાપત્રીની પૂજા કરવી; અને આ જે અમારી વાણી તે અમારું સ્વરૂપ છે. એ રીતે પરમ આદર થકી માનવી.
Lipi: Ane ae ā śhikṣhāpatrīnē vāṇcī saṅbhāḷāvē ēvo kō’ī nahi hōy tyārē tō nityapratyē ae ā śhikṣhāpatrīnī pūjā karvī; ane ā jē amārī vāṇī tē amāruṁ svarūpa chhē. Ē rītē parama ādara thakī mānavī.
English: And when there is no one to read this Shikshapatri to them, then they shall do its puja daily; all my aashrits shall reverently honour my word as my divya swarup (divine self).

Gujarati: અને આ જે અમારી શિક્ષાપત્રી તે જે તે દૈવીસંપદાએ કરીને યુક્ત એવો જે જન હોય, તેને આપવી અને જે જન આસુરી સંપદાએ કરીને યુક્ત હોય, તેને તો ક્યારેય ન આપવી.
Lipi: Ane ā jē amārī śhikṣhāpatrī tē jē tē daivīsampadāē karīnē yukta ēvo jē jana hōy, tēnē āpavī ane jē jana āsurī sampadāē karīnē yukta hōy, tēnē tō kyārē n āpavī.
English: And this Shikshapatri shall only be given to a person with divine virtues and shall never be given to a person with demonic tendencies.

Gujarati: સંવત ૧૮૮૨ અઢારસો બ્યાસીનાં મહાસુદી પંચમીને દિવસે આ શિક્ષાપત્રી અમે લખી છે, તે પરમ કલ્યાણકારી છે.
Lipi: Samvat 1882 aḍhārasō byāsīnāṁ mahāsudī paṅchamīnē divasē ae ā śhikṣhāpatrī amē lakhī chhē, tē parama kalyāṇakārī chhē.
English: In Samvat 1882, on Maha Sud Panchami (fifth day of the bright half of the month of Maha), I (Shree Sahajanand Swami) have written this Shikshapatri which is all auspicious.

Gujarati: અને પોતાના આશ્રિત જે ભક્તજન તેમની જે સમગ્ર પીડા તેના નાશ કરનારા એવા ને ધર્મે સહિત જે ભક્તિ તેની રક્ષાના કરનારા એવા ને પોતાના ભક્તજનને મનવાંછિત સુખના આપનારા એવા જે શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાન, તે જે તે અમારા સમગ્ર મંગલને વિસ્તારો.

ઈતિ શ્રી સહજાનંદ સ્વામી શિષ્ય નિત્યાનંદ મુનિ લિખિતા શિક્ષાપત્રી ટીકા સમાપ્તા

Lipi: Ane potānā āśrita jē bhaktajana tēmanī jē samagra pīḍā tēnā nāśa karānārā ēva nē dharmē sahita jē bhakti tēnī rakṣhāna karnara ēva nē potānā bhaktajanē manvāṅchiṭa sukhanā āpanārā ēva jē śhrīkṛṣṇa bhagavāna, tē jē tē amārā samagra maṅgalanē vistārō.

īti śhrī sahajānanda svāmī śiṣya nityānanda muni likhitā śhikṣhāpatrī ṭīkā samāptā

English: And may Shree Krishna Bhagwan, destroyer of his Aashrits miseries, protector of Dharma with Bhakti and bestower of all desired happiness to his Bhaktas, shower his aashirvad (blessings) on us all.

Thus concludes the Shikshapatri, written by Shree Sahajanand Swami and Nityanand Muni.
